Waalwijk Man in Police Chase Crashes Through A59 Barrier, Escapes Injury
In a dramatic turn of events early Thursday morning, a 31-year-old driver from Waalwijk defied a police stop signal, sped off, and crashed through the barrier of the A59, miraculously escaping injury. The driver, who had been consuming alcohol and was behind the wheel of a vehicle equipped with fake license plates, initiated a brief police chase that ended with his car traversing the barrier and landing on the highway below.
At approximately 04:30 hours, police observed a vehicle behaving suspiciously. Upon attempting to pull the driver over, the chase ensued, culminating in the vehicle smashing through the guardrail at the intersection of the Industrieweg and the Altenaweg, parallel roads to the A59. Remarkably, the driver and two passengers emerged unscathed from the incident. Authorities are currently preparing a statement and reviewing the circumstances surrounding the chase.
