Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, met with representatives from Inventure Group to discuss collaboration on the implementation of the New Administrative Capital Medical City (CMC) project. This initiative is part of a broader national strategy to expand major health projects and boost investment in the healthcare sector.
The Minister emphasized the Egyptian government’s commitment to partnering with the private sector as a key player in achieving sustainable development, noting that this collaboration will contribute to improving the efficiency and quality of healthcare services provided to citizens according to the highest international standards.
Inventure Group Collaboration on Medical City
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s official spokesperson, stated that the Minister affirmed that the health of citizens is a top priority for the state, through providing an integrated and safe therapeutic environment that facilitates easy access to medical services. He explained that the Medical City project is a qualitative addition to the healthcare system and will enhance Egypt’s position as a regional and global center for medical tourism.
The meeting included a detailed presentation of the project’s components, which will be built on an area of 930,000 square meters, with a capacity of 5,000 beds. It will include specialized hospitals, integrated medical centers, outpatient clinics, operating rooms, intensive care units, and hemodialysis units, providing comprehensive medical services covering all specialties according to the latest international standards.
The project also includes an integrated center for medical training and education with a capacity of 4,000 students, alongside scientific research centers, advanced medical databases, residential areas for doctors and staff, hotels for patients and their companions, and service and commercial areas to support the full operation of the city.
Services to be Included in Comprehensive Health Insurance System
The Minister directed that the project’s services be included within the comprehensive health insurance system and the services of the state expense fund, to ensure access to services for all segments of citizens without discrimination. He also requested the preparation of a detailed executive plan including the stages of work, estimated costs, and operating mechanisms, for presentation to the Prime Minister’s office.
