Title: Holiday Surge at University Multiprofile Hospital "St. Anna": 650 Patients in 48 Hours

In the heart of Sofia, the University Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment (UMBAL) "St. Anna" witnessed a surge in patients during the recent holiday season, with a staggering 650 individuals seeking medical attention over the course of 48 hours. Among them, 178 were children, and 130 were hospitalized.

The primary reasons for this influx included injuries from accidents, ski-related traumas, and cases of overeating. Notably, there were 12 instances of stroke and five neurovascular injuries reported within this period.

Earlier today, a woman was hospitalized in a coma and in critical condition. She was transported from Blagoevgrad to Sofia via a medical helicopter, as reported by BTA.

While the holiday season is often a time of joy and celebration, it also brings unique challenges to healthcare providers. As we move forward, let’s remember to prioritize safety and moderation in our festivities to reduce the strain on our healthcare systems.
