The weapon used in the attack has not yet been found. Nowack does not consider this a major issue, stating, “In many cases, there isn’t one. That’s not particularly decisive if you have other evidence.” He declined to disclose what evidence the investigators have, citing the upcoming trial.
A witness, a friend of the suspect, could be another asset. Gina H. Allegedly led him to the body before the police arrived. Nowack remained tight-lipped, referring to the main hearing: “We have findings that I do not want to disclose yet,” he had said to our editorial team a few weeks ago. Today, he sounded similar: “We have a lot of important witnesses for the overall picture. And the witnesses who were directly involved are particularly relevant.”
Deadline for Main Trial Expires in Early May
The evidence is said to be overwhelming. Among other things, the investigators mentioned more than 60 witnesses in the indictment. They also obtained an expert opinion that came to the same conclusion. However, the Rostock Public Prosecutor’s Office will only comment on the expert opinion regarding Gina H.’s “criminal responsibility” during the main trial before the Rostock Regional Court, which is expected to begin soon.
