Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Bakung Temenggungan Road
In a tragic incident that unfolded on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at approximately 11:15 AM WIB, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Jalan Raya Bakung Temenggungan, in Balongbendo sub-district, Sidoarjo. The collision claimed the life of one individual.
According to information provided by the local police, the accident involved a Vario motorcycle, bearing the plate number AE 2939 JBA, traveling eastbound from the west. The rider was identified as NA, a 24-year-old female college student from Taman, Sidoarjo.
In a fateful turn of events, the motorcycle was allegedly struck by a bus with the plate number W 7273 UP, driven by AR, a 36-year-old resident of Kutorejo, Mojokerto. The bus attempted to overtake a vehicle in front of it on the left side, consequently encroaching into the opposite lane and resulting in a head-on collision with the motorcycle.
The impact proved to be fatal for NA, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services transported the victim’s body to Anwar Medika Hospital, Balongbendo, Sidoarjo.
The Sidoarjo Police Traffic Department is currently investigating the cause of the accident. This report will be updated as more information becomes available.
