Title: Sofia Woman Dies After Alleged Assault by Husband; Suspect Arrested in Greece
In a tragic incident, a 40-year-old woman from Sofia, Bulgaria, passed away following an alleged assault at the UMBAL "Tsaritsa Yoanna – ISUL" hospital. The victim, identified as Evgenia Belovska, was beaten by her husband, Ariz Садула, a Greek national. Belovska succumbed to her injuries, including a broken neck (C4 and C5 vertebrae), which left her brain stem intact but unable to control vital functions.
Saidu LLа, a 42-year-old Bulgarian woman from Sofia, shared the harrowing details of her sister’s final moments, "She was alive but her body couldn’t function – no breathing, no eating, no drinking. She was trapped in a lifeless body, a prisoner in her own flesh."
The suspect, Ariz Saidu, was taken into custody in Greece. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of attempted murder and inflicting grave bodily harm. This is not an isolated case; elsewhere in Bulgaria, incidents of domestic violence continue to make headlines. Just recently, a similar case was reported in Paneagurishte.
Authorities and advocacy groups urge anyone experiencing or witnessing domestic violence to report it immediately. If you or someone you know is at risk, contact local emergency services or seek help from organizations such as "Signal ‘999’ Against Domestic Violence."
