In a shocking turn of events, a former driver from the household of the late governor of DKI Jakarta province, Sutiyoso, was found dead in Majalengka, West Java, on Tuesday evening. The victim, identified as M., appeared to have taken his own life by firing a gunshot to his head.
M., who was in his 50s, had been working as a driver for the Jakarta governor’s wife, Ni Nyoman Ratu Nlichten Suardja, before retiring. The incident occurred at a rented house in Majalengka where M. had been living since his retirement.
Authorities investigating the case believe that M. died from a single gunshot wound to the head. A pistol, reportedly a P229 by SIG Sauer, was found near the body. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events leading up to M.’s demise.

The late governor, Sutiyoso, served as the governor of DKI Jakarta from 1997 to 2007. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 80.
