Deadly Tourist Bus Crash on Jalan Imam Bonjol in Batu City, East Java
A tragic road incident occurred on Wednesday evening (08/01/2025) when a tourist bus plunged into several vehicles on a downhill stretch of Jalan Imam Bonjo, Kota Batu, East Java. The crash resulted in extensive damage, with debris of vehicles scattered across the road.
Radio Suara Surabaya received multiple videos of the aftermath, showing mangled vehicles, shattered glass, and vehicle parts strewn along the road. Polres Batu Traffic Division Head, Ipda Gema Indra Kanit Turjawali, confirmed that the crash resulted in fatalities and several others suffering injuries.
"Some victims are in critical condition, while others have minor injuries. Around 10 ambulances transferred the casualties to nearby hospitals," Ipda Gema reported to Radio Suara Surabaya.
As authorities continue to clear the debris and manage traffic congestion, they are still gathering detailed information on the casualties and the initial cause of the crash. "We are currently investigating the incident," Ipda Gema added.
