2. Peak Nights: 3-4 January 2025
The Quadrantid meteor shower will be active from December 28, 2024, to January 12, 2025, with peak nights expected on January 3-4, 2025, marking the first major meteor event of the year. At its peak, sky gazers could see up to 120 meteors per hour from a completely dark sky, assuming the radiant is directly overhead. In Indonesia, observers could see up to 44 meteors per hour due to the shower’s relatively low radiant point.

Catch the Quadrantid meteor shower every night between 10:46 PM WIB on December 28, 2024, and 5:00 AM WIB on January 12, 2025. The shower will reach its climax around 11:00 PM WIB on January 3, with the best views expected in the early morning hours of January 4.
4. Rising from the Bootes Constellation
The Quadrantid meteors will emerge from the direction of the Bootes constellation, which can be located using digital sky maps. Once belonging to the now-defunct constellation Quadrans Muralis, this meteor shower is sometimes referred to as the Bootid.
