A Serbian mercenary, Braislav Živković, renowned for his past espionage activities on behalf of Russia, has succumbed to injuries sustained in intense combat in Russia’s Kursk region. The news was reported by a Russian Telegram channel.
"The night of January 2 saw the heroic death of our friend and brother-in-arms, Braislav Živković, commander of the stormtrooper unit, during heavy fighting to liberate the Kursk region," the message read.
Živković, who led the extremist organization "Chetnik’s Veil" in Serbia, fought alongside pro-Russian forces since 2014. His past also includes espionage activities in Romania.
In 2017, the Bucharest Court of Appeal declared Živković persona non grata and banned him from entering Romania for 15 years following his involvement in intelligence work.
