Smith, 38, was booked into the Sarpy County Jail on Monday evening following an arrest by Nebraska authorities. Prosecutors stated the charges include first-degree domestic assault, terroristic threats, and first-degree false imprisonment.

According to the Sarpy County Attorney’s Office, the incident began following an altercation at a bar in Gretna, Nebraska. Prosecutors alleged that Smith threatened to kill his wife if she did not return home with him, forcibly pushed her into a vehicle, and continued making threats after she briefly exited during the drive. Investigators further allege that after arriving at their Gretna residence, Smith attempted multiple times to strike his wife with his vehicle as she escaped, though she managed to maneuver out of the way and avoid physical injury.
Courtroom proceedings and prosecutors also detailed that witnesses helped Smith’s wife and the couple’s children leave the residence after Smith went inside. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots from inside the home and stated that Smith threatened to kill himself if law enforcement entered the premises. Following a warrant, Smith turned himself in to authorities.
Bond Conditions and Upcoming Court Appearance
Smith was released from custody Wednesday morning after posting the bond. As conditions of his release, Smith is strictly barred from any contact with his wife and is prohibited from leaving the state of Nebraska without a judge’s permission. His defense team informed the court that Smith plans to stay with a family friend in Nebraska City pending further proceedings.

Brian Butler of SuckerPunch Entertainment, Smith’s manager, released statements on behalf of both himself and Smith’s wife, Mikhala, asking the public to withhold judgment. “At this time, it would be inappropriate to comment on the allegations or speculate regarding facts that have yet to be fully established. Like every individual, Anthony is entitled to the presumption of innocence and the due process protections afforded under our justice system.”
