Breaking: Coal Train Derails near Batonove, disrupting routes to Radomir, Kragujevac & Dupnica; Authorities Response Immediate
BATONOVE, – A devastating train accident near Batonove has left the rail network in disarray, with three coal-carrying wagons overturning at a curve, causing significant damage and disrupting traffic on the Radomir, Kragujevac, and Dupnica lines. The Bulgarian Railroad Corporation (BDZ) management is at the scene, zapernik.com reports.
Three coal-filled wagons veered off track, causing damage to poles and wires, with one wagon finding itself in the yard of a nearby house, now filled with spilled coal.
Miraculously, no injuries were reported, but the region’s remote location may complicate restoration efforts.
Batonove Mayor, Radoslav Petrov, confirmed, "The incident is severe, and normal service won’t resume anytime soon. We’ve deployed buses to transport passengers bound for Radomir, Kragujevac, and Dupnica."
