Man Arrested for Horrific Metro Fire Attack in New York
In a heinous and depraved act, a man has been arrested for setting a woman on fire on a subway train in New York City, leading to her tragic death. The suspect, later identified as a 24-year-old migrant from Guatemala, was captured by police after a manhunt that lasted several days.
The incident occurred on the morning of January 3rd, when the victim, a 48-year-old woman, was traveling on the A train around 11:40 AM. The suspect approached her, poured an accelerant on her, and set her ablaze before fleeing the scene. Horrified passengers tried to extinguish the flames, but the woman succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital.
Authorities described the crime as one of the most depraved they had ever seen. The suspect, who had been living in the U.S. for about two years, was charged with second-degree murder, arson, and criminal possession of a weapon.
