Title: Celebrity Homes Lost in Devastating LA Wildfires
Stars of Hollywood and beyond are among the thousands of residents affected by the ongoing wildfires engulfing the Los Angeles area. Some, like Paris Hilton, have lost their homes entirely, while others, like Leighton Meester and Adam Brody, may have lost theirs too.
Paris Hilton’s Malibu Mansion Among Those Lost
Paris Hilton’s $8.4 million Malibu beachfront mansion was listed among the homes consumed by the flames. The socialite took to Twitter to express her shock: "Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our Malibu home in flames in real time on TV is something nobody should have to experience."
Other Celebrity Homes at Risk
Leighton Meester, known for her role in "Gossip Girl," and her husband Adam Brody—star of "The O.C." and "Nobody Wants This"—were said to have purchased their Pacific Palisades home in 2019 for $6.5 million.
Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice, confirmed the loss of their Pacific Palisades home where they had lived since 1979. In a statement, they expressed their heartbreak but found solace in love and support from friends and family.
Actress and "Halloween" series star Jamie Lee Curtis took to Instagram to admit that her residence may have fallen victim to the inferno, stating, "Possibly our house is on fire. It’s a terrifying situation."
Mandy Moore, famous for her role in "This is Us," shared her family had evacuated after flames approached their home, but she remained uncertain about its safety.
LA’s Pacific Palisades Hardest Hit
The largest fire has burned through nearly 4,856 acres in Pacific Palisades, a picturesque neighborhood nestled between Santa Monica and Malibu, home to many celebrities and influential figures.
The fire began in Hollywood Hills and quickly spread, leading to new evacuations in an area crucial to the U.S. entertainment industry. The flames lick dangerously close to Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame, though they would need to cross the 101 freeway before threatening the iconic Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory. The Dolby Theatre, where Oscar Awards are held, is also within reach.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has already postponed the Oscar nominations announcement, initially scheduled for next week.
