GAZA CITY: Palestinian resistance groups have identified the Israeli soldier involved in the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Yahya Sinwar. The soldier, identified as Isaac Cohen, was part of the undercover Israeli army unit that carried out the assassination in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

Sinwar, who was also the head of Hamas’ political bureau, was killed in an airstrike targeting his convoy in the Gaza Strip. The assassination has been condemned by Palestinian factions and sparked widespread protests across the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on the identification of the soldier involved in the assassination. However, Israeli media reports suggest that the operation was carried out by the Israeli army’s special forces unit, known as the Sayeret Matkal.

The assassination of Sinwar has further escalated tensions between Israel and Palestinian resistance groups in the Gaza Strip. It remains to be seen how the Palestinian factions will respond to the identification of the Israeli soldier involved in the operation.
