Ukraine Condemns Russia for Execution of Captured Soldiers; Red Cross Urged to Intervene

According to the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, a shocking incident has occurred near the village of Neskuchne in Volnovakha district, Donetsk region. Preliminary reports suggest that Russian occupiers executed three Ukrainian prisoners of war, shooting them in the back of the head after binding their hands.

Lyubić reminded the international community that under the Geneva Conventions, prisoners of war are under special protection, prohibiting any form of torture, ill-treatment, or killing. Despite these clear international norms, Russia continues to demonstrate blatant disregard.

"I, as the authorized representative of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on human rights, once again urgently appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations. These institutions must condemn this crime and pressure the Russian side to stop such actions," Lyubić stated in his address.

This is not the firstSuch atrocity committed by Russian forces. In another development, former Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin reported that approximately 90% of Ukrainian prisoners detained in Russia are subjected to various forms of torture.

Last year, we also reported that Russian military personnel executed five Ukrainian prisoners of war near the town of Ugledar.
