A major Israeli military operation at a Hospital in northern Gaza ended with the arrest of 240 suspected Hamas fighters, including the director of the facility, who has been identified as a terror organization official.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched the raid on ‘Kamal Adwan Hospital’ in Beit Lahia city, Gaza, early on Friday. The IDF spokesman said the hospital was harboring and managing Hamas’ regional command center.
Among those apprehended is Dr. Husam Abu Saify, the hospital’s director, who has been accused by the IDF of being a top Hamas ‘terrorist’. The IDF reported that his account revealed plans for terror attacks against Israel.
The IDF operation was concluded successfully, with some of the detainees being disguised as patients.
Israel’s Ministry of Health confirmed the detentions, reporting it after Israeli forces stormed the hospital, driving out staff and patients in the cold. The ministry’s spokesperson stated that the forced evacuation prevented many from assistance.

The IDF maintained its claim that Hamas fighters were present in the hospital, although there was a lack of evidence to support this. Hospital staff categorically denied the presence of any Hamas people in the building.
The ‘Kamal Adwan Hospital’ has been a repeated target for Israeli airstrikes in the past three months, as the Israeli military campaigns against Hamas intensify in the region.
The arrested director was taken alongside many other staff members for interrogation at an Israeli military facility, as per the Ministry of Health.
