New Costco Coming to Zapopan
Late last year, Costco revealed its expansion plans, which include opening new stores in the U.S. and Mexico, with one of them slated for Guadalajara in 2025. This will be the fourth Costco store in Jalisco, ensuring an expanded product offering for residents.
The Sindicato Nacional "Mariano Escobedo," responsible for constructing Costco stores in Mexico, has confirmed that the new Guadalajara store will be located in front of the Plaza San Isidro in Zapopan, making it the second Costco in this municipality.
Progress and Support
The construction of the new Costco store in Jalisco has the backing of the Confederación de Trabajadores de México (CTM) in Jalisco, with updates on the project progress shared on social media.
Costco’s Jalisco Presence
Currently, Costco has a presence in three municipalities in Jalisco. Apart from the new store in Zapopan, there are already stores in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga (Avenida López Mateos) and Puerto Vallarta.
While no official opening date has been confirmed, industry sources suggest that the new store could start welcoming shoppers before the end of 2025.
