Sofia’s District Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges against notorious car thief Antony Garvanov, alias Garvana, for attempting to hide a stolen vehicle on Wednesday. Due to the risk of bail jumping or committing further crimes, Garvanov has been detained for up to 72 hours.
The prosecutor’s office alleges that Garvanov illegally took a foreign-owned small car by breaking the rear door’s small glass and the glass over the fuel tank’s cap. A request for the court to issue a custodial measure (“detention under guard”) is pending before Sofia City Court. A preliminary investigation has been initiated in the case.
