Man Found Dead in Moss Home on Christmas Day; Police investigating Several Theories
A 34-year-old man was found dead in his own apartment on Jeløya in Moss on the first day of Christmas. While initial suspicions pointed towards foul play, police have since indicated that the theory of homicide has been significantly weakened.
"Police are still working under several theories, including violence leading to death, self-inflicted, or an accident," said Anders Svarholt, police attorney for NTB. No suspects or persons of interest have been identified at this time.
Investigations throughout the night have included witness interviews and detailed crime scene analysis. While police are beginning to shape a timeline of events, the cause of death remains undetermined. The man will undergo an autopsy on Friday, December 27.
The night prior to the fatal incident, police received multiple noise complaints and reports of a party at the address. Upon arrival, officers found the scene quiet and detected no grounds for entry. Police confirm having received previous noise complaints from the same location.
"We understand that neighbors have experienced this as both annoying and frightening," police stated in a press release.
This is a developing story, and we will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
