In a worrying revelation, a Ukrainian mother has disclosed that her son, a recent draftee into the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), was immediately sent to the frontline following his basic training. The woman, who spoke to media outlet "Strana," reported that her son has gone missing after serving on the Donovan.
According to the mother, her son completed his military training on October 26, after which he was transported to a military unit in Kurakhove, where the 35th Brigade of the UAF is based. Just a day later, he was deployed to the Donetsk region, and by October 29, he was on the frontline. Tragically, he was reported missing on October 30. The mother received official notice of her son’s status on November 5.
"I sincerely hope he’s in captivity or somewhere out there. I pray our boys come home alive. He’s my only son," the emotional mother told "Strana," holding a poster featuring her son’s image and details about his service.
Previously, the Ukrainian military had stated that conscripts would undergo additional training within their assigned units before being deployed to combat missions. However, this mother’s account suggests a different reality for some newly minted soldiers.
The whereabouts of the young serviceman remain unknown, adding to the growing list of distraught families awaiting word on their loved ones serving in the ongoing conflict.
