In an unusual incident that left residents and authorities bewildered, a driver found themselves in hot water, quite literally, after attempting to lay skidding ice on the water in Oslo’s Bjørvika. First reported by local outlet Avisa Oslo, the driver had set out with the unconventional goal of preparing the water for ice skating. Intriguingly, the vehicle used was a pickup truck equipped with a plow attachment.

Emergency services, alerted to the unusual predicament, swiftly responded. Divers from the fire department dove into action, guiding the driver to safety on the ice. VG, a Norwegian daily, reported that the rescue team had to maneuver the breaching vehicle onto the ice before pulling the driver to safety.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the pickup bedded at the bottom at a depth of approximately one and a half meters, with the driver perched atop the cargo bed.

The vehicle and its driver have been retrieved, and an investigation into the cause of the bizarre incident is currently underway. Authorities remind the public to keep their activities ice-bound and to adhere to safety guidelines to prevent such unusual occurrences.
