Breaking: Gunfire Erupts in Klepp, Rogaland; Three Hospitalized, Two in Critical Condition
A man in his 40s and two police officers were injured, with two in critical condition, following a shootout in Klepp, Rogaland, early Saturday morning. The incident began as a response to a potential threat situation.
At approximately 01:08 AM, local police received a report of a possible threat. Several patrol units were dispatched and, just after 01:35 AM, they intercepted a vehicle suspected to be involved. The suspect vehicle opened fire, sparking an exchange of gunfire with the officers.
In the chaos, both the suspect, a man in his 40s, and two police officers were struck by bullets. All three were rushed to Stavanger University Hospital. Tragically, the suspect and one of the officers are now in critical condition.
The passenger in the suspect’s vehicle appears unharmed and does not seem to have suffered any serious physical injuries. The Specialized Police Unit for Police Affairs has been notified and is assisting with the investigation.
