Trump Appoints Key Allies, Including Legal Advisor, to White House Staff
Article:
In a series of announcements made on Saturday, President-elect Donald Trump revealed the names of four key allies who will serve as assistants in the White House, including the appointment of Stanley Woodward Jr. as his principal legal advisor. With the inauguration scheduled for January 20, Trump continues to build his administration with familiar faces.
Stanley Woodward Jr., a seasoned attorney, will also serve as Trump’s top legal counsel. Woodward has represented several of Trump’s associates, including Waltine Nauta, a former personal aide to the ex-president who was implicated in the Florida case involving mishandled classified documents.
Trump has previously shown favor to his trusted legal team, with Todd Blanche, who led his defense in the New York case involving an irregular payment to a porn star, being tapped to serve as the second-in-command at the Department of Justice.
The incoming president also announced the appointments of Robert Gabriel Jr. as presidential advisor on policy, Nicholas Luna as deputy chief of strategic implementation, and William ‘Beau’ Harrison as deputy chief of operations.
Trump dedicated a significant portion of his announcement to Luna, highlighting his role in "ensuring that the diverse coalition of Americans who not only delivered a college electoral victory but also the popular vote are uplifted and energized."
In November, Trump designated Susie Wiles, the secretive director of his campaign, as his chief of staff, making her the first woman to hold this prestigious position in the U.S. administration.
