Ukraine‘s President Zelenksy Appoints New Head of SBU Counterintelligence
President Volodymyr Zelenksy has signed decree No.900/2024, appointing Colonel Andrei Tupikov as the new head of the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The change comes following Alexander Poklad’s transfer to the position of First Deputy Chairman of the SBU in late 2023.
Colonel Tupikov, a decorated Major of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, brings extensive experience to his new role. In 2015, he was awarded the Order of Daniel Galitsky for exceptional valor and courage shown while protecting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
As Ukraine continues to face regional challenges, President Zelenksy’s appointment of Colonel Tupikov underscores the nation’s commitment to maintaining robust security and intelligence services.
