Title: Controversy Surrounds Rp1.3 Billion Donation Intended for NTT Disaster Victims
Jakarta, Indonesia – Lawyers representing Agus Salim have spoken out regarding a Rp1.3 billion donation, intended for the relief of disaster victims in Lewotobi, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Marlina, a legal representative of Agus Salim, revealed this information in an interview held in Pluit, Jakarta Barat on Monday, January 6, 2025.
The donation was originally gathered by Denny Sumargo (Densu) and Gary, with the express purpose of aiding victims of natural disasters in NTT. However, Marlina stated that Agus Salim finds this distribution unacceptable. "For the donation that is now being channeled towards NTT, Agus is absolutely not in agreement," Marlina asserted.
Marlina further clarified that, should the courts rule the donations as not belonging to Agus Salim, he would accept the decision. However, should the courts rule in favor of Agus, he expects the funds to be returned to him.
In a surprising revelation, Marlina confirmed that the donated funds were originally intended for Agus Salim, and had been held in a foundation for some time.
Agus Salim himself expressed his disappointment and dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs. He stated, "I am genuinely upset about this, especially with the agreement that was initially established by Marlina, which stated that the funds were entrusted to me."
The agreement regarding the allocation of these funds was reached in the presence of Denny Sumargo, Pratiwi Noviyanthi (Teh Novi), and Garry Julian, who was then the head of Yayasan Rumah Peduli Kemanusiaan (Yayasan RPM). The event was broadcast on Denny Sumargo’s YouTube channel, CURHAT BANG Denny Sumargo.
Agus Salim also made it clear that he would not accept the situation if the law deemed the funds to be rightfully his. "If the law declares this money to be mine, I will not be at peace," he said.
In other news, Agus Salim broke down in tears while sharing Alvin Lim’s final words.
