Unseasonably warm air dominates most of the country throughout October, pushing afternoon thermometers toward the mid-20s. Daytime maximums generally range between 14 and 20-24 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows hover around 4 to 8-9 degrees Celsius, according to Florinela Georgescu, forecasting director at ANM.

The warmest weather concentrates in the southern parts of the country, where temperatures peak at 24 to 25 degrees Celsius. Conversely, cooler daytime conditions persist across northern Moldova and low-lying depression areas. In these sheltered depressions, early morning temperatures frequently drop to 1 or 2 degrees Celsius, accompanied by localized frost formation.

Precipitation Patterns and Mountain Weather

Rainfall remains sparse across the country, with isolated showers occurring mainly in hilly and mountainous terrain. Georgescu notes that upcoming weather models indicate light, scattered showers may extend into southern and southeastern regions during the following week.

At higher elevations, precipitation amounts stay minimal, though the highest mountain crests experience overnight sleet and isolated snow flurries. Recent weather systems already delivered a first layer of snow to alpine peaks, although meteorological officials indicate that this early snow cover has a very low probability of persisting.
