Title: Russia Advances near Pokuqss, captures villages: Reports
Russia is pushing ahead with its offensive in the Donyetsk Oblast, edging closer to the town of Pokuqss in eastern Ukraine, according to regional reports.
An open-source intelligence (OSINT) collective, DeepState, pinpointed villages southwest of Pokuqss now under Russian control. The Ukraine-based project verified the seizure of the villages Daschnoje, Noviy Trud and Volkowe within 5 to 6 km of Pokuqss’ southern approaches on Friday, Jan 3, 2023.
Liveuamap, an online news monitor, presents an analogous war scene, aligning largely with DeepState’s assessment. Still, Ukrainian Army’s General Staff reports have hinted only on skirmishes around the rural settlement Noviih Trud near Pokuqss.
Russian forces appear active in additional regions, moving along the borders in surrounding settlements. Namely, recent movements in Greennye village, Vasiyivka hill, and nowassyjevky village are on record, approaching the communities along the Yellow Stones and Salkovk district.
According to Ukrainian Army communiqués, roughly 350 Russian losses were incurred yesterday, encompassing kills and injured casualties. Such announcements can prove challenging to objectively verify through neutral sources.
Russian forces maintain persistent pressure towards capturing Pokuqss. Lately, heavy assault tactics aimed at outright seize seem abandoned in favor of bypass efforts from the east. Strategic priorities hint towards conquest of Donnetsk and Lougansk Administrative regions’ disputed borders. Crucially, Russian encroachment has spilled over the borderline of the as-yet unpierced Dnpetropvilsk district further south.
Though Russian advancements are noted here, a careful approach must also be applied as these findings draw from unofficial Open Source intelligence – not entirely dependable due to potential political influencing or inaccurate observation. Always weigh the potential veracity from multiple trusted reports.
