Physical preorders for Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo Switch 2 are currently discounted by $10 at Amazon, lowering the price from $69.99 to $59.99 alongside a preorder price guarantee, mashable.com reported. The title launches on November 5, 2026.

Amazon offers preorder price guarantee for physical edition

The digital version of the Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake costs $59.99 at Amazon, while the physical edition was initially listed at $69.99 before dropping to $59.99, according to mashable.com. Buyers who choose the physical copy receive a preorder price guarantee from Amazon. This policy ensures that if the preorder changes between now and when you’re charged, you’ll pay the lowest price point between when you order and when you receive the game.

For collectors, Nintendo announced that the initial print run of the physical edition will feature special packaging with textured foil cover art. This release aligns with the franchise’s 40th anniversary, which also brings a special-edition Switch 2 console, a Pro Controller, and a carrying case arriving on October 29, as reported by mashable.com.

Goron City features expanded layout and remastered visuals

Nintendo recently shared new gameplay footage showcasing Goron City inside Death Mountain on its social media channels. The promotional clip highlights Young Link traveling through the settlement during an early cutscene, displaying an expanded layout compared to the original Nintendo 64 release. The area features cave-like volcanic designs with sulfuric mist, wider paths, massive nets replacing the thin ropes of the original game, and full camera control running at 60 FPS alongside a remastered arrangement of the original music.

Beyond Death Mountain, the remake brings graphical overhauls and gameplay updates to Hyrule Castle Town Market and other key locations. A separate video clip shared via the Nintendo Today! mobile app provided a new look at the antagonist Ganondorf, showing the Gerudo character atop his horse with lighting strikes and flames surrounding him. In another clip, the Great Deku Tree speaks to Link regarding a great evil that has appeared.

Nintendo Switch app adds companion features and logs

Nintendo is introducing several companion features through the Nintendo Switch app, expanding the experience beyond the core game. Players can use physical ocarinas or hum notes directly into the Switch 2 controller’s microphone to play songs in the game. The app also includes 11 different options, such as “Today’s Record,” which tracks player accomplishments chronologically with screenshots.

Additional app functions include a digital ocarina practice mode that generates QR codes for sharing recorded songs, and an Ocarina of Time Quiz featuring 2,000 questions answered within 10-second timers. The game itself incorporates a new adventure log feature called "Trails of Time," where an interactive painting gradually fills up as players progress and track their objectives.

The quiz includes four possible answers and a picture for each question. Two examples shown were “Who does this house belong to?” and “Which plant family do Bomb Flowers belong to?” Players can attempt the quiz once daily or pay 20 Rupees for another attempt. Correct consecutive answers increase the player’s “Cucco Level” and “Egg Level.” Other app options shown but not explained include amiibo, Photo Studio, Global Play Data, Threads of Time, Hall of Fallen Foes, and Map.

Game Details

Developed and published by Nintendo, the single-player title carries an ESRB rating of Everyone 10+ for fantasy violence and animated blood. On Twitter/X, the official Japanese language profile for Zelda confirmed the addition of the interactive adventure log.
