Breaking: Three Minors Apprehended for Assaulting Singaporean Tourist in Bandung
BANDUNG – In a significant development, police have apprehended three suspects allegedly involved in the assault of a Singaporean tourist on Jalan Braga, Bandung. The suspects, all minors and students, are currently under investigation by the West Java Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim).
detikJabar’s pavement on Saturday, December 4, 2025, revealed the suspects, wearing black, white, and blue shirts, undergoing scrutiny by Satreskrim detectives in the West Java Police headquarters. "Praise be to Allah, we managed to apprehend the three suspects overnight," said Bandung City Police Chief, Commissioner Budi Sartono, on Saturday. The suspects are identified as RF, RM, and MCA.
Contrary to initial reports, Budi clarified that the incident did not occur on New Year’s Eve but rather on December 29, 2024. "After investigations and witness testimonies, it’s clear that the assault happened on December 29, not on New Year’s Eve," he revealed.
The suspects, all underage and students from Bandung Regency’s Cimaung District, have been remanded for further investigation. The chief emphasized their youth and student status, "The suspects are all minors, students, and residents of Bandung Regency’s Cimaung District."
