Narrow Victory: Sunee Limpanichai (No. 2) Wins Paksong City Clerk Election by a Slim 61-Vote Margin

Article:

In a closely contested race, Sunee Limpanichai, running under the No. 2 ballot, narrowly defeated her opponents to become the new Clerk of Paksong City, replacing the outgoing CM Krongkrit Limpanichai, who resigned after a 19-year tenure spanning five terms. The election, held on December 22, 2024, saw four candidates vying for the position, including two women, in Sunee Limpanichai and Ajcharaphon Sewak (No. 1).

The election yielded a high turnout, with 25,506 eligible voters casting their ballots across 49 polling stations. The competition between Sunee Limpanichai and Ajcharaphon Sewak remained intense throughout the counting process, with the lead changing hands in multiple rounds. Ultimately, Sunee Limpanichai emerged victorious, securing 5,484 votes to Ajcharaphon Sewak’s 5,423, a mere 61-vote difference.

Sunee Limpanichai, the wife of the former Clerk CM Krongkrit Limpanichai, will now oversee the administration of Paksong City, a role she previously held as Deputy Clerk. Her victory came despite facing stiff competition from Ajcharaphon Sewak, the wife of Sirisiddhi Leesudilapp, a MP representing Nakhon Ratchasima’s 14th district under the Phuea Thai Party, and two other candidates.

The tight race underscored the significant interest and engagement among Paksong City residents in the municipal election process. As Sunee Limpanichai assumes office, she will have the challenging task of filling the large shoes of her predecessor while addressing the city’s unique needs and aspirations.
