New Citroen C3, how many arrows in the arc!

Tgcom24 went to Lake Lecco to discover the new C3, tested in the 110 HP petrol engine with 6-speed gearbox. The first contact concerns a careful evaluation of the design. The front is all new, the design of the Led headlights and the V-shaped signature (standard on all versions), and the connection grille is also new. The side panel adds larger wheel arches and unpublished 16 and 17 inch alloy wheels, but above all they debut new Airbumps, with three separate protections at the bottom on the side. The body shop offers the customer an inexhaustible range of combinations: 97 colors!

The combination of these is then with two different internal environments and with the three productions Live, Feel and Shine, but there are also a couple of unreleased packages and the special series C-Series in the exclusive Deep Red color. As if to say, everyone can design their own Citroen C3, enhancing a personality that already excels in the B segment, either for the significant height of the hood (seen from the rear-view mirror it looks like a large SUV), or for the spacious interior and boot: 300 liters in normal configuration.

If we look at the interior and the equipment, we have further confirmation that the restyling has been profitable. Front parking sensors are now standard and the seats are now more comfortable, thanks to the soft foam under the fabric that qualifies the comfort at the level of the models Aircross (C3 and C5). Connected services are increasingly in demand, even in popular segments, and so here is the C3 welcoming the Connect Assist, which guarantees connected navigation and compatibility with Android and Apple smartphones. The 7-inch touch screen is perhaps a little too low and to manage it unfortunately it is necessary to look down, with the risk that the “Coffee Break Alert” (standard) will be triggered.

No news on the engine front, but on closer inspection, a precise strategic choice has also been made here. Citroen offers 5 petrol engines and only one diesel (a 100 bhp with 5-speed gearbox), suggesting that it will be petrol power that will dictate the law on the market. In our test we tested the PureTech 110 CV, a lively and sprinting 3-cylinder, but in the range there is also 83 HP which has the advantage of being able to be driven by new drivers.

In the mixed route between the hairpin bends of the lake, we appreciate the good suspensions, which are not the super adaptive of the C5 Aircross but absorb stresses well and avoid rolling, always transmitting an excellent feeling of safety. Price list from 14,100 euros, but the time is good to find the many promotions on the market, and so on the new C3 can go down to 9,900 euros with financing and 10,900 without.

Ferrari Omologato, a Ferrari like no other

NEW – A name evoking the GTO, a rear hatch covered with louvers: Maranello’s latest bespoke creation offers a journey of nostalgia.

Even in the choice of appellation, the shadow of the famous Ferrari 250 GTO (O for Omologato) seems to have hovered over the design of the latest bespoke creation from the House of Maranello. From the 812 Superfast from which it borrows the platform and the V12, the Ferrari Omologato has kept only the windshield and headlamps. Everything else is new. This is what the informed European collector, at the origin of the order, wanted.

From the first sketches to the delivery of this unique berlinetta, two years have passed. The 250 GTO clearly inspired this unique berlinetta. The sloping and smooth front hood adopts two gills and a flattened oval grille that refer to those of the GTO of 1962. ‘a light car. The rear scrambles the cards. The louvers covering the large bezel suggest that the engine is installed at the rear. The two double lights of the 812 Superfast are replaced by a single equipment.

The interior treatment takes a trip back to the 1960s. Like those in racing cars and the 250 GTO, the leather and jeans fabric seats are electric blue, while the metal parts of the dashboard and the The arch housing the gearbox knobs mimic the crackle paintwork of sixties GTs.

New automotive giant to build popular Jeep

NEW YORKFiat Chrysler (FCA) y Peugeot Citroen (PSA) modified the terms of their merger due to the commercial disruptions caused by COVID-19 and thus give way to the birth of the fourth largest automaker in the world and the third in sales.

FCA agreed to reduce the exceptional dividend to be distributed to its shareholders to $ 3.4 billion against the $ 6.5 billion promised earlier. PSA, meanwhile, will distribute 46% of its shareholding in the French auto parts manufacturer Faurecia among all the shareholders of the new company instead of only among its own shareholders as planned.

The decision was made “to take into account the impact that the COVID-19 health crisis has had on the automotive industry,” both companies said in a joint note. At the same time, it seeks to “preserve the original balance of the merger” that should be completed by the end of the first quarter of next year, the statement added.

The merger, which was announced at the end of October 2019, will lead to the creation of Stellantis; a company that will be the fourth largest in the world in the automotive sector in terms of production volume and the third in sales.

Many loyal consumers in the US to brands like Jeep and Chrysler will have the opportunity to continue to enjoy these vehicles with a redesign that will not discard the traditional lines that made them popular in North America, both companies announced.

The new giant will manufacture brands such as Peugeot, Citroen, Fiat, Chrysler, Jeep, Alfa Romeo and Maserati.

However, in recent months, questions have been looming about the balance of that union that had been announced as a marriage with common interests.

Due to the slowdown in trade caused by the pandemic, the two companies announced in May the waiver of the payment of an exceptional dividend of 1.3 billion dollars, which was planned as part of the merger.

Citroën C5 Aircross in the outlet reveals Czech prices. The equipment will decide if a million is enough for you

The offer of electrified SUVs on the Czech market is being expanded by the plug-in hybrid Citroën C5 Aircross. And if one condition is met, it can cost CZK 895,000.

He arrived this week plug-in hybrid Citroën C5 Aircross officially on the Czech market and you can look forward to a traditional editorial test. Even before him, we visited a press conference to introduce the French novelty, and it is no surprise that we were mainly interested in the price.

The C5 Aircross comes into the socket in a single technical specification, so prices are only affected by the selected equipment level. Citroën has prepared a special benefit for domestic customers of up to CZK 72,000, with which the car will start at CZK 945,000 with basic Feel equipment. So to be specific, you can press the price to 895,000 CZK, if you use the bonus of 50,000 CZK for an old car (applies to all equipment). In our attached table below, however, we only calculate with a special advantage, not a redemption.

Feel features 8-inch wheels and receives front and rear parking sensors and a parking camera, electric parking brake, hill start assist, automatic dual-zone climate control, 12.3 ”digital instrument panel, 8-inch multimedia navigation system screen, cruise control with speed limiter and and so on. The Feel Pack version starts at CZK 985,000 and in addition provides additional daytime running lights with LED optics, LED turn signals, Advanced Comfort seats or tinted rear window glass.

The higher version of the Shine for CZK 1,025,000 already has Full LED headlights, laminated acoustic windows in the front front windows, adaptive cruise control with stop & go function, upholstery combining leather and fabric or decorative elements on the body. The Shine Pack with assisted driving on the motorway, heated front seats, electrically operated driver’s seat, hands-free opening of the boot lid, induction charging of the phone and nineteen-inch wheels costs CZK 20,000 more.

However, even the price of over a million does not mean that you have nothing more to pay for. However, rather than a panoramic sunroof with an electric sun visor for CZK 33,000, we recommend a more powerful on-board charger with an output of 7.4 kW (standardly 3.7 kW) for CZK 8,000. Metallic paint comes to CZK 15,500, special pearl white costs CZK 20,000 and the contrasting color of the roof and mirrors costs another CZK 12,000.

The plug-in technology of the hybrid C5 Aircross has not been a secret for some time, but let’s remember it. The basis is a petrol four-cylinder 16-cylinder engine with an output of 133 kW combined with an electric motor at the front, which supplies another 81 kW. But because the numbers can’t be easily added, we get a system power of 165 kW (225 hp) and 360 newton meters of torque. The French plug-in hybrid is combined exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, the ATV does not offer the novelty. The battery with a capacity of 13.2 kWh (usable 11.8 kWh) is to offer a range of 56 km (WLTP).

Compared to the conventionally powered variant, it will be pleasing that the luggage compartment has remained the same (as has the ground clearance). The C5 Aircross benefits from a platform that has included battery installation from the start. The trunk can hold 460 liters of luggage as standard, or 1510 liters when the rear seats are folded down. The only downside is the smaller fuel tank. While the combustion car can hold 53 liters, the plug-in hybrid is 10 liters less. The car can be charged from just over seven hours from a classic home socket, but with a home wallbox and an optional on-board charger, it can do it from 0 to 100% in two hours.

The collection of André Lurton dispersed

The Artcurial house is auctioning off, on September 27 in Gironde, the civilian and military vehicles of this great Bordeaux figure.

A Fisson 8HP 3 liters “Tonneau” from 1898 estimated between 120,000 and 200,000 euros.

Sales follow each other but do not resemble each other. Fifteen days after the dispersal of André Trigano’s automobiles, the Motorcars department of Artcurial sells the André Lurton collection. Deceased last year at age 94, this great Bordeaux figure, long president of the Syndicat viticole AOC Entre-Deux-Mers and administrator of the Interprofessional Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB), owner of Château Bonnet, in the heart of Entre-deux-Mers, had built a collection vehicles which certainly had neither the prestige nor the richness of that of Trigano but which recounted his personal journey.

Passionate about mechanics from a young age, André Lurton had for many years assembled vehicles revealing his story, that of his family and that of his wife, Elisabeth Garros. The Simca 6 reminded him of the car from his honeymoon in Chamonix. On the way back, the breakage of a shock absorber had forced them to wait two days on the banks of the Loire for the arrival of

Porsche 911 Turbo S, a show of strength

Not to be confused. Within the galaxy Porsche, there is the 911 and the one that we have become accustomed to simply calling “the Turbo”. For forty-five years, the latter has not stopped pushing the limits of the conceivable. In the space of eight generations, its flat-six changed planet, going from 260 hp for the first 3-liter version to 680 hp for the latest S variant powered by two variable-geometry turbos. A power which brings it closer to that of the 935 K3 victorious in the Sarthe in 1979. A challenge for a vehicle whose cantilevered engine architecture seemed to condemn it in the long term. Not only have the engineers succeeded in demonstrating that this was not the case, but over time, the Turbo has continued to improve, becoming more and more tame. The hypertrophy of its silhouette – the body widens 45 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear while the adaptive spoiler increases in surface area – will make some purists squeak more than ever, but it was necessary to go through there to ensure perfect control of the ground connections.

As such, a Turbo has never seemed so easy to drive. This grand touring coupe seems to be stuck on rails. This is even truer with the PASM controlled damping including a sport chassis lowered by 10 mm, at the cost of some discomfort on degraded pavement. Behind the wheel of the Turbo S, what fascinates is its unparalleled consistency, and the extent of its repertoire. The Turbo is able to move through traffic without flinching and in the next instant, catapult you into another dimension with a simple push on the accelerator.

If unsurprisingly, the performances border on excellence, the times are those of a missile: it only takes 1.6 seconds to go from 80 to 120 km / h. From the latest 911 type 992, it inherits the best: the comfort equipment of a sedan and the digital instrumentation resting on a curved tablet. The essential is preserved: in the middle of the two customizable screens sits a huge analog tachometer reminiscent of the first 911. Nostalgia when you hold us!

New Citroën C3, comfort project

It is called Citroën Advanced Comfort and is a program that underlies the design of current models, the purpose of which is to offer maximum comfort to passengers. Let’s take an example immediately: the Advanced Comfort Seats, a fundamental prerogative for the well-being on board which saw its debut in 2018 and which is now also available on the New C3.

Their generosity is able to evoke the same sensations of the home armchair. They can be adjusted in height and offer greater postural comfort thanks to the lumbar support for all passengers, adjustable on the driver’s side. Soft and enveloping, they guarantee good support for correct posture at the same time. The ingredient capable of giving this exclusive effect is called polyurethane foam: soft under the fabric and thick on the surface. It is also shown visually thanks to the quilted effect that reaches 15 mm in thickness.

This high density foam confers prolonged effectiveness over time, with always optimal comfort, especially even after long journeys. The seats are combined with equally wide backrests, able to literally wrap the occupants, and to amplify the internal habitability in relation to the external dimensions that continue to remain compact.

But numerous other elements also contribute to the comfort of the French car, starting with the immediate perception of space, thanks to its habitability, the numerous storage compartments and the boot volume of 300 L. The feeling of space on board is amplified by the essential lines of the dashboard with horizontal development and it is strengthened by the treatment and care of the colors, volumes and materials. Features that are also found in the rear, with the space for the passengers’ legs.

Last but not least, the attention dedicated to the comfort of the suspensions and the care dedicated to acoustic insulation. A typically Citroën signature that makes the New C3 a real lounge with wheels.

from two different eras, but created to break paradigms

More than 40 years after the Citroën Ami will stop being manufactured, the brand recovers that name for a vehicle very different from its predecessor. At first glance, it may seem that a mid-range tourism and a disruptive mobility solution and 100% electric have nothing in common. However, the coincidences go far beyond the name, the French equivalent of the word “friend,” which hints at Citroën’s close-to-people philosophy.

Both the 1961 Citroën Ami 6, and the current Citroën Ami, were born to meet new needs and demands of people and they do so with a totally groundbreaking design. In 1961, his goal was to introduce the brand to the mid-range of the market. Citroën, in those years, had very well covered, with two mythical models, both the segment of luxury cars, with the DS, and the category of cheap and popular cars, with the 2 CV. Further, I wanted to meet the drivers, who were beginning to sit behind the wheel.

To meet the challenge of offering a comfortable interior with significant boot volume, the designer Flaminio Bertoni he drew and sculpted the rear window at a fully inverted angle to that normally used. In this way, people traveling in the rear row enjoyed maximum space and the three-body body structure was maintained with ample cargo space. And all this in only 4 meters in length. In terms of style, it broke paradigms with the incorporation of rectangular headlights at a time when all the optical groups were round.

Currently, the Citroën Ami 100% Ëlectrico meets the demand for agile and sustainable mobility in cities with a solution that also breaks schemes. This electric mobility object is accessible to everyone. It does not require a driving license and adapts to the needs of each person with both car sharing and long-term rental or property solutions.

Like the Ami from 60 years ago, it has a unique design on the outside ensuring a high level of comfort on the inside. Its large glass surfaces and panoramic roof allow you to enjoy the city in 360˚ in a comfortable, closed and perfectly air-conditioned room. The configuration of its two seats and its storage areas located under the feet of the person who drives and in the rear allow make optimal use of space. In the aesthetic and personalization section, if the Ami 6 was opened to a more public with a wide range of upholstery for the seats, the Ami electric has customization options capable of adapting it to the tastes and personality of each one.

Therefore, with almost six decades of difference, the Citroën Ami respond, in an innovative way, to new needs. Betting on design, comfort and non-conformity.
