Jakarta Police Arrests Entire Family for Mobbing and Stripping Woman in Pluit
A family of five, consisting of a mother and her children, has been arrested and designated as suspects for their role in a gruesome mobbing and stripping incident that took place in the early hours of Sunday, January 5, in the Pluit district of Jakarta Utara. The victim, a 41-year-old woman, was publicly humiliated and assaulted by the group.
The suspects, identified as K (42), EWH (21), VS (22), BDP (22), and CDK (16), were charged under Article 170 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), which covers mobbing crimes.
seniour officer at the Jakarta Utara Metro Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit, confirmed the arrests. He stated that the youngest suspect, who is still attending high school, was released to the custody of her father, as authorities believe she was primarily involved due to peer influence.
The horrifying incident, which was recorded by bystanders and circulated on social media, showed the victim being dragged, beaten, and stripped naked on the public street.
According to the senior officer, the mobbing was instigated by a suspicion of infidelity between the victim and the suspect’s husband. The case is still being investigated, and the husband may also be summoned for questioning regarding these allegations.
