Three zodiac signs are entering a very lucky era on November 9, 2026, as a powerful new moon in Scorpio brings fresh beginnings and strong ideas, according to astrologer Ruby Miranda writing on YourTango.
The new moon arrives on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 5:02 a.m. EST, according to astrologer Jessica Richards, founder of 12th house, as cited by VICE. RUSSH notes the lunation occurs at exactly 6:02 pm AEDT on Monday, November 9.
During this period, the moon slips into its waning crescent phase right before the New Moon in Scorpio. Astrologer Lena Smith describes the waning crescent as a cosmic off-ramp characterized by closure, forgiveness, and conscious surrender rather than forced answers. Mars entered its pre-retrograde shadow on November 5; events occurring around the new moon may influence its January to April 2027 retrograde.
Mars is also approaching a conjunction with expansive Jupiter, which can amplify emotions, desires, and potential drama while prompting a new course of action. This alignment occurs alongside the South Node, suggesting something may need to be released or sacrificed to make room for growth.
Pluto, modern ruler of Scorpio, sits in Aquarius and forms a trine with Uranus in Gemini to introduce larger themes of liberation and reinvention. The asteroid Ceres in Cancer harmonizes with the New Moon, reflecting unconditional love and the depth of devotion for loved ones.
The upcoming new moon in Scorpio is landing in an incredibly potent season marked by five planets in retrograde, including Mercury in Scorpio,
Richards told VICE. This tells us that the energy is already asking us to reflect inwards on the journey that’s brought us here.
For Scorpio, the new moon puts the sign on a lucky new path where boundaries are no longer compromised, YourTango reports. You make your own luck, and it becomes an inspiration for the future,
the outlet notes.
Cancer finds realistic and doable ideas during the lunation, feeling that attitude alone attracts exciting opportunities, according to YourTango. Pisces also works well with fellow water signs during the lunation, with the energy connected to creativity and inspiring Pisces to set ideas in motion for even greater success.
Fixed signs including Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius will feel the most impact as the new moon makes a critical angle to these fixed signs, according to Richards. Individuals belonging to these signs are encouraged to be firm yet gentle with themselves while exploring new self-expressions and boundaries.
Before we can take any further steps, the weeks to come are about integrating the lessons in a Scorpionic manner, to be open to true transformation,
Richards told VICE. Astrologers recommend drawing a large circle in a journal, writing where you are finding the most resistance, then coloring it until the words underneath can no longer be seen, letting this symbolize the change you are calling in under this lunation.
As part of a decision ritual during the waning crescent phase, individuals can say quietly what they are releasing and what they are making room for at the Scorpio New Moon.
