UIN Syarif Hidayatullah‘s Rektorat Building Consumed by Fire in Tangerang Selatan
TANGERANG, Indonesia – A major fire engulfed the Rektorat building of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah in the Ciputat district of Tangerang Selatan, Banten, early on Monday, December 30, 2024. Eye-witnesses captured the devastating incident on video, which was later obtained by iNews Media Group.
The footage reveals that the blaze started in the room of the university’s Vice Rector 2, spreading up to the third floor of the building. "Reporting a fire incident at Kampus I, Rectorate Building, specifically, in the rector’s office," the person filming stated.
Plumes of black smoke billowed into the sky, accompanied by fierce flames still burning at the scene. Additionally, three fire trucks were present at the location, battling to extinguish the inferno.
