Tragic Accident on Route 11: Two Children Among Five Fatalities in 24 Hours

A horrific accident on Route 11 has claimed the lives of two children, a two-and-a-half-month-old baby and a five-year-old, who were traveling in the back seat. The driver, a passenger, and another minor sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the Hospital Municipal de Dolores via an air ambulance after being assisted by AUBASA and Civil Defense personnel.

The tragedy occurred around noon, as the family was heading towards the Atlantic Coast, near the Cerro de la Gloria. The vehicle, a red Subaru, was found overturned on the highway. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and have not ruled out the involvement of another vehicle.

This accident marks the second fatal episode in less than 24 hours on Route 11, with a total of at least five fatalities in the span of a day. Earlier in the morning, a mother and her two children died in a collision and rollover, while their father and another child were critically injured.

The heartbreaking incident took place as the family was traveling to the Atlantic Coast on Route 11, at kilometer 263, near General Conesa. The Toyota Etios they were in lost control while traveling at 160 km/h, clipped another vehicle, and crashed into a tree.

All the victims were from Quilmes and members of the same family. The causes of the accidents are under investigation.
