Breaking: Maros Police Officer Involved in Viral Indecent Video; Arrested and Under Investigation
A shocking video has surfaced, spreading like wildfire on social media, capturing a police officer from Maros, South Sulawesi, engaging in an inappropriate act with another person’s spouse. The video, which lasts over three minutes, shows a man, believed to be the police officer, with a woman in a private room, behaving like intimate partners.
In response to this viral video, the Provincial Police of South Sulawesi (Polda Sulsel) has stepped in, investigating the case involving the suspected police officer, identified by his initials Ipda RN. He has been detained for further questioning.
"We have initiated an investigation against the suspect," confirmed Brig. Gen. Zulham Effendi, Head of the Propam Division of Polda Sulsel, in an interview on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. The investigation is ongoing, with a Patsus (Special Team) set up to handle the case.
The Maros Police Chief, AKBP Douglas Mahendrajaya, confirmed that the suspect is currently under investigation by the Polda Sulsel’s Propam division. The video, which is over three minutes long, was previously examined by the Maros Police before being handed over to the Polda Sulsel for further action.
If found guilty, Ipda RN will face disciplinary action. However, Douglas could not yet specify the exact sanctions, as they will be determined once the investigation is complete.
The woman in the video is said to be a married individual, possibly the wife of a businessman. The video is believed to have been circulating since 2019, but its origins and the first person to share it remain unknown. The police have not yet provided further details on this matter.
This incident, if proven, is a serious breach of professional conduct and tarnishes the image of the Indonesian National Police. It serves as a reminder that all officers must uphold the highest standards of behavior, both on and off duty.
