In a shocking turn of events, a 31-year-old woman named Melody Sharon has been arrested for violently attacking and dragging her husband after she caught him cheating in East Jakarta, Indonesia. The disturbing incident has since gone viral, leaving the public aghast at her actions.
According to Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Melody was discovered to be careless and unsympathetic following her heinous act. She even went on a vacation to Bali with her lover shortly after the incident. "Before being detained, she showed no remorse. She hadn’t even inquired about her husband’s condition or her children’s welfare, and she went on a trip with her lover to Bali," revealed Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, the Chief of East Jakarta Metro Police, to journalists from detikNews.*
Lilipaly further disclosed that Melody ultimately expressed remorse after being apprehended by the police, confessing her wrongdoings and bursting into tears.
Melody was arrested after she was found to have deliberately run over and dragged her husband for nearly 200 meters, resulting in his leg fracturing. Her unthinkable actions were triggered by the discovery of her husband’s adultery.
Melody Sharon was subsequently charged under Article 44 (2) of Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning Domestic Violence (KDRT) for her actions against her husband. Moreover, her husband, AG, has also filed a complaint against Melody for adultery, implicating a man with the initials TS.
AG revealed that he first suspected his wife’s infidelity on November 6, 2024, when he found out that Melody had taken her lover to an apartment in Cengkareng, West Jakarta. AG discovered this through CCTV footage, feeling wronged by his wife’s actions, and subsequently filed a police report with the Metro Jaya Police.
