Snow and strong winds have caused havoc in Agder since Monday morning. This has led to numerous power outages, closed roads, and train and flight disruptions. according to NRK.

Trees Fall on Cars, Power Lines

Several trees have fallen on cars and power lines, causing damage and power outages. Police in Agder report that four incidents involved trees falling on cars.

  • In Arendal, a tree fell on a car while the driver was waiting for another tree to be removed.
  • In Kristiansand, a tree fell on a car at Riksvei 9, near the border with Vennesla. No one was injured.
  • In Flekkefjord, a tree fell on a car at Søppelbilen.
  • In Langangsveien in Arendal, a tree fell on a car, trapping two people inside for a while.

Power Outages

Over 5,500 households in Agder are without power as of 20:30 on Monday. The situation is expected to improve throughout the night.

  • In Risør, 1,242 customers are affected.
  • Apple Levy says they expect power to be restored to most customers by Tuesday morning.

Bogged-Down Train

A train from Oslo to Stavanger got stuck in snow between Sira and Kristiansand on Monday morning. Passengers had to get off and walk to the next station.

Flight Delays
