The announcement of Archer’s death was released on Tuesday, October 6, by HarperCollins. Kate Elton, managing director of HarperCollins UK and Archer’s editor, stated that they are heartbroken over the loss of an author who entertained generations of readers.

Elton said.
Archer’s final novel, titled Adam and Eve
, is scheduled for publication this month. His extensive literary catalogue spans decades and includes dozens of works translated into multiple languages.
Archer serves in parliament before perjury conviction leads to prison
Alongside his literary pursuits, Archer maintained an active and controversial role in British politics. He served as a Member of Parliament for the House of Commons from 1969 to 1974. By the mid-1980s, he held a central position within the party under then-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
That political career unraveled in a public scandal. In 2001, Archer was convicted of perjury and perverting the course of justice following a high-profile personal injury case. He was sentenced to four years in prison, ultimately serving two years of that term.
