Starting next Monday, June 26, adolescents aged 15 to 19 will be able to receive their second dose of the dengue vaccine in Misiones province. This is part of the ongoing vaccination campaign against the dengue fever, which has seen over 20,000 individuals receive their first dose in the region.
The free vaccination campaign, launched earlier this year, has been met with enthusiasm by the local population. The initiative seeks to protect the most vulnerable sectors of the population from the disease, which is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
In addition to Misiones, other provinces across Argentina are also conducting dengue vaccination campaigns. The campaign aims to administer two doses of the vaccine, six months apart, to create a herd immunity effect and help control the spread of the dengue virus.
The provincial government recently confirmed that the vaccination campaign will continue throughout the summer season, ensuring that all residents have the opportunity to receive the vaccine.
