Article:
Mexico City, December 31, 2023 – President Claudia Sheinbaum and Secretary of Bienestar Ariadna Montiel embarked on a landmark initiative today, commencing the distribution of tarjetas for the ‘Mujeres Bienestar 2025’ program. This groundbreaking policy aims to provide bimonthly pensions of 3,000 pesos to women aged 63 and 64.
During the morning press briefing, Palacio Nacional, Montiel Reyes shared that the initial phase of the program will benefit 964,556 women. The recipients will receive their tarjetas in a phased manner, with October registrants set to receive theirs in January, and November registrants in February.
"Nearly a million women will start receiving these bimonthly payments of 3,000 pesos," Montiel said. "This is a significant step towards supporting Mexico’s senior population, particularly its women, who have contributed so much to our society."
The ‘Mujeres Bienestar 2025’ program is poised to provide stability and financial relief to a vast number of senior citizens, many of whom would otherwise face economic hardships. As the program unfolds, it promises to have a tangible impact on the lives of Mexico’s elderly population. Further developments on this story are expected to follow shortly.
