A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Norway on Tuesday after experiencing engine failure. The incident occurred on flight KL860, a Boeing 737-800, which was en route from Amsterdam‘s Schiphol Airport to the Norwegian capital, Oslo.

The aircraft, with 158 passengers and six crew members on board, successfully landed at Oslo Gardermoen Airport around 10:30 AM local time. Emergency services were promptly deployed, but they were stood down soon after as the plane landed safely.

"The captain decided to return to Oslo due to a technical issue with one of the engines," a KLM spokesperson confirmed. "The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew are unharmed."

Passengers on board reported hearing a loud bang shortly after takeoff, followed by a loss of power in one of the engines. The plane then began to descend and circled back towards Oslo.

This incident comes just weeks after another KLM flight, a Boeing 747-400, was forced to make an emergency landing in Canada due to a technical issue. The airline has since assured the public that safety is their top priority and that they are investigating the cause of the latest incident.

Flight KL860 was eventually delayed by several hours as passengers were rebooked onto other flights. KLM offered hotel accommodation and meal vouchers to those affected by the delay.
