Former Combatant Donald Simanjuntak’s Role in Sumatra Propam Division

by Chief Editor January 1, 2025
written by Chief Editor

Headline: policing scandal: prominent anti-narcotics officer dismissed after weaving wrong

Subhead: Dismissal follows excessive conduct toward Malaysian national at Jakarta event, indicative of larger discipline issues

Article:

In an unprecedented move, Corpu Police dismissed Corpus Donald Parlaungan Simanjuntak, the head of the National Narcotics Agency (Bareskrim), for improper conduct, following a police brutality incident at the recent Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) event in Jakarta. The decision was made during a disciplinary hearing convened by the police’s Propam Division.

Three high-ranking police officers were dismissed, with Parlaungan being one of them. "The panel has decided on the PTDH (Dishonorable Dismissal) penalty for the three officers, including the director of the narcotics agency and his immediate assistant," announced Komisi Kompolnas M Choirul Anam on Wednesday.

Parlaungan, a native of North Sumatra with roots in the Batak region, is no stranger to the public. His career in the police force has been vast and varied, including serving as the head of police intelligence in several regions of North Sumatra, as well as stints in Bali and Jakarta.

However, Parlaungan’s dismissal is just the tip of the iceberg in a larger issue plaguing the police force. The dismissals follow a tumultuous event at the DWP, where Indonesian police officers harassed a Malaysian national. This incident has sparked concern and scrutiny over the conduct of police officers and their treatment of foreign tourists.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, with further penalties expected for other officers involved in the case, as announced by Anam.

Image caption: "Indonesian police forces are under public scrutiny following high-profile incidents of misconduct, including the treatment of a Malaysian national at a recent Jakarta event."

The dismissal of Parlaungan, who had served in various capacities throughout his career, including drug enforcement and public order management, underscores the gravity of the police misconduct issue. His professional history has been compiled and referenced extensively in news reports, including:

  • His early career in Bali, serving as a district chief and division head before transferring to North Sumatra in 2006.
  • His tenure in North Sumatra, where he rose through the ranks, serving as the head of police intelligence divisions and police chiefs in various regions.
  • His most recent position as the director of the National Narcotics Agency, a role he held since 2024.

The dismissal of Parlaungan is the latest development in an ongoing saga involving the conduct of Indonesian police forces. As the country continues to grapple with issues related to public order and drug enforcement, the police force faces increasing pressure to uphold its duties with honor and integrity.

Bali Getaway Exposure After Brutal Spouse Assault: Woman Indifferent to Husband‘s Fate

In a shocking turn of events, the case of a woman who brutally assaulted her husband until his leg was broken has taken a new twist. It has been revealed that the suspect, Melody Sharon, went on a vacation to Bali with her lover following the incident.

Police have uncovered that Melody, 31, showed no remorse after assaulting and dragging her husband in Cipayung, East Jakarta. Instead of worrying about her husband’s condition, she went on a trip with her lover.

"Before her arrest, she didn’t feel any remorse. She didn’t even ask about her husband’s condition or her children. She even went to Bali with her lover," said the head of Metro Jakarta Timur Police, Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, in an interview on Monday, December 23, 2024.

Melody was eventually arrested and officially named a suspect. Only then did she express regret for her actions, claiming to be sorry and feeling guilty. However, this remorse came after her arrest and detention, raising questions about the sincerity of her regret.

Investigations have revealed that Melody was fully conscious while assaulting and dragging her husband with a car for about 200 meters, resulting in his leg being broken. This violent act was allegedly committed due to Melody’s discovery of her husband’s infidelity with not one, but two men.

Melody Sharon has been charged under Article 44, Paragraph (2) of Law No. 23 of 2004 on Domestic Violence (KDRT) and is currently being detained at the Metro Jakarta Timur Police Station.

The police have also received a report alleging adultery against Melody. The report was made at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters and has been registered under number LP/B/7754/XII/2024/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated December 18, 2024.

Melody’s husband, a man identified by the initial A, has filed a report under Article 284 regarding adultery. The alleged lovers involved are Melody Sharon and a man identified by the initial T.S.

"Yes, we have received a report regarding Article 284. The informant in this case is the husband," said the Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, in an interview on Saturday, December 21.

As the events continue to unfold, the public is left to wonder about the motivations and remorse of Melody Sharon in this troubling case.
