In the spirit of the classic comedy "Home Alone," some of us might find ourselves spending the holiday season without family or friends. But who better to draw inspiration from than celebrities who have faced the same situation? Bulgaria Dnes asked some of the country’s beloved stars about their experiences celebrating holidays solo, and here’s what they had to say.

For Toni Dimova, it’s happened twice in her life – once in 1999 against 2000, when she was toooccupied with her newborn daughter, and again in 2021 during the COVID pandemic. "I was quite sad, as I’ve always been used to singing to others," she confessed. But this New Year’s Eve, Toni advises those spending it alone, " Value your solitude, because it’s a precious moment to truly be with yourself."

But if solitude doesn’t appeal, music producer Dimitar Kovachev-FUNKI has a wildcard suggestion: "Grab a tub of wine and hit the streets with friends to celebrate the New Year."

So, whether you choose to reflect, plan, or party, remember that spending the holidays alone doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate or find joy. After all, as Toni Dimova puts it, "Sometimes, it’s wiser to be alone than surrounded by the wrong company."

Jingle, jingle, ho-ho-ho… Pass the turkey!

Hence, the next time you find yourself alone on the most wonderful time of the year, remember the words (and experiences) of your Bulgarian favorites. Despite loneliness, a solo holiday season doesn’t have to be a Grinch’s Christmas–it can be a Strategy Christmas!
