Ukraine Secures $2 Billion in Additional Support at ‘Rammstein’ Defense Meeting

President Volodymyr Zelensky met with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin during the ‘Rammstein’ format defense meeting, where Ukraine secured an additional $2 billion in support. This was announced by the President himself at a news conference in Italy.

"Thanks to all our partners and ministers of defense, including from the 50-plus nations present. We had a productive meeting today, resulting in an agreement on additional support packages worth $2 billion," said President Zelensky. He also highlighted the creation of eight coalition possibilities, with 34 countries already committed to these strategic initiatives.

The meeting, held on January 9, also saw confirmation of guaranteed deliveries of additional air defense systems. "We have promises, we have support. Not all 19 systems, but a serious quantity that our partners have confirmed. We’re working to ensure these systems arrive expeditiously," the President said.

Earlier, Lloyd Austin had announced a $500 million military aid package for Ukraine during the meeting. Furthermore, the next ‘Rammstein’ meeting is expected to be held in February, as confirmed by the Ukrainian Minister of Defense, Rustem Umierov.

Zelensky Responds to Trump’s Sympathy for Putin’s Stance

President Zelensky Responds to Trump‘s NATO Remarks, Stresses Ukraine‘s Security Needs

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has weighed in on former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments expressing understanding of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s concerns regarding Ukraine’s potential NATO membership.

In a meeting with Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen on Wednesday, as reported by European Truth citing Interfax-Ukraine, Zelensky urged against drawing conclusions about U.S. policy on this issue. He emphasized that Ukraine is seeking tangible security guarantees.

"Remember when they said that Patriot systems can only be in NATO countries? Now we need to work and ensure that Ukraine gets the security guarantees that our people deserve, guarantees that could deter Putin," Zelensky emphasized.

The Ukrainian president stressed that his country has the right to demand robust security guarantees from global leaders and peace influencers. He noted that the issue of security guarantees depends not only on the U.S. but also on Europe’s allied stance.

Earlier, Trump had stated that President Biden had broken a supposed "agreement" not to admit Ukraine into NATO and that he could understand Russia’s feelings on the matter. Trump had previously expressed that Biden should not have promised Ukraine NATO membership, alleging that this promise was a factor in Russia’s full-scale invasion.

Conflicting with these remarks, Trump had previously claimed that he would not abandon Ukraine in his efforts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

As the geopolitical landscape continues to evolve, the security and sovereignty of Ukraine remain a crucial topic of global concern. The international community watches eagerly as leaders navigate delicate negotiations to ensure stability and peace.

Ukraine Ceasefire: Easter Holiday Could Bring Long-Awaited Truce

by Chief Editor January 7, 2025
written by Chief Editor

Headline: Russia’s …”>Putin and Ukraine’s Zelenskyy during …”>Zelensky‘sready to sacrifice for Ukraine peace?

Just as U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump gears up to make the cessation of war in Ukraine one of his top international priorities, experts weigh in on the chances of a breakthrough with a potential Easter truce. According to Robert Clark, a scientific researcher at the Yorktown Institute, an agreement could indeed be struck by the Orthodox Easter holiday. "The Americans will definitely consider some sort of deal by Easter… It all comes down to Putin’s willingness to make concessions," he said, referencing areas such as the strategically vital Kursk region.

However, Clark noted that it’s not just Putin who needs to show flexibility. "Sadly, it depends on how much Zelenksy is willing to sacrifice," he added. Given the complex dynamics at play, striking a balance in this high-stakes geopolitical game might be an uphill battle. "This will be extremely difficult for Ukraine," Clark conceded, emphasizing the terminal involvement of Ukrainian decision-makers in the process.

The road to peace negotiations may finally unfurl under Trump’s watch. As The Guardian reported, his ascension to power could pave the way for exploring opportunities aimed at stemming the conflict. Yet, while both sides hint at willingness to talk, significant hurdles remain.

On the Russian side, President Putin is still reluctant to relinquish the territories he’s seized, while Ukrainian leader Zelenksy seeks robust security guarantees, potentially including NATO membership or the presence of Western peacekeepers. With the complexities and challenges at hand, the path to a viable ceasefire remains fraught with uncertainty.

Ukraine‘s President Zelensky Claims Buffer Zone on Russian Territory, 5 Months into Kursk Offensive

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has declared that after five months of the military’s "Defense Forces" operation in the Kursk region, Ukraine has maintained a buffer zone on Russian territory. The President made this statement during his address on Monday, January 6th.

"Today, exactly five months have passed since we began our actions on the Kursk side, and we have preserved a buffer zone on Russian territory," Zelensky stated. "We are actively destroying Russian military capabilities there. In the course of the Kursk operation, the enemy has lost over 38,000 soldiers so far, with around 15,000 of them being irrecoverable."

Zelensky also mentioned that Russia has deployed significant forces to the Kursk region, including soldiers from North Korea. He believes that this deployment prevents Russia from allocating these forces to other Ukrainian fronts.

The President further revealed that he chaired a meeting and received separate reports from konkurmats涛nder of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskiy, and Chief of the General Staff, Anatolii Baranovych. The discussions focused on reinforcing and rotating the troops, particularly near Pokrovsk, and implementing internal systemic changes within the military to enhance its effectiveness.

Zelensky emphasized the importance of these changes, expressing his gratitude to all military units and frontline warriors: "The first topic is the protection of our frontline directions, Pokrovsk in particular. I’m grateful to all our brigades, every one of our fighters who are there right now."

The Ukrainian leader’s address comes amidst intense fighting and strategic military actions taking place across the country’s war-stricken regions. With the conflict now in its tenth month, both sides continue to fortify their positions and engage in convoys, troop movements, and intelligence operations, as reported by the Ukrainian presidency.

Belarus Denies Lukashenko Apologized to Zelenskyy: ‘We Have Nothing to Apologize For’

Belarus President’s Spokeswoman Denies Ukraine-Russia Talks”>Lukashenko Apologized to Zelensky Over Ukraine Invasion

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko did not apologize to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky during a phone call in the early days of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to a statement by Lukashenko’s press secretary, Natalia Eismeont.

The denial comes following an interview given by Zelensky to American podcaster Lex Fridman, where the Ukrainian President claimed that Lukashenko had expressed remorse for Russian rockets striking Ukraine from Belarusian territory and suggested retaliatory strikes on the Mозырский нефтеперерабатывающий завод (Mozyr Oil Refinery).

Eismeont clarified that the phone call indeed took place, attributing the connection to Lukashenko’s younger son, Nichols, who had Zelensky’s direct contact. She elaborated on the conversation’s contents, asserting that Lukashenko emphasized the conflict’s origins in Ukraine and advocate for diplomatic dialogue, leading to talks in Belarus and later in Istanbul.

"Our President did not offer any apologies to President Zelensky," Eismeont stated. "There’s no reason for us to apologize, as we haven’t done anything wrong."

Volodymyr Zelensky: Ukraine Elections Possible Only After War Conclusion or Legal Reforms

Ukraine‘s President Zelenksy: Elections Possible Only After War or Legal Changes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has clarified that electionsinUkrainecanonlytakeplaceaftertheongoingconflictendsorsignificantchangesaremadetothecountry’slegislationInaninterviewwithAmericanpodcasterLexFriedmanZelenskyemphasizedthatconductingelectionsunderthecurrentcircumstancesisimpracticalandunpopularamongtheUkrainianpublic

Zelensky explained, "In Ukraine, everyone understands that elections aren’t feasible until the war is over, or there are substantial changes in the law. I believe elections will happen immediately after the lift of martial law, as per the law. Alternatively, parliamentarians could convene and amend the legislation, albeit it would be challenging due to societal opposition."

One of the primary obstacles is the need to create infrastructure for over 8.5 million Ukrainian refugees to vote. Adding to the complexity is the situation in occupied territories with millions of residents, including those displaced due to the recent aggression.

Zelensky also hinted at the possibility of online voting, acknowledging the need for a revised voting system during wartime. However, he expressed concerns about potential cyber threats and other challenges associated with digital voting platforms.

Zelensky on the Order of War Termination Talks: Trump First, Then Putin

Ukraine‘s Zelensky: Peace Talks with Trump First, Then Putin if U.S. Offers Strong Security Guarantees

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that the first peace talks about ending the ongoing war will take place with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump after his inauguration. However, discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin might only occur if Trump presents "strong security guarantees for Ukraine."

Zelensky shared these insights during an interview with American podcast host Lex Friedman. "I think on January 25 or sometime after, we will first sit down with Trump," he said, adding that their objective would be to "deal with stopping the war and Putin."

The Ukrainian president also underscored the importance of Europe having a voice in these negotiations. He noted that European leaders consistently inquire about his conversations or meetings with Trump. "Europe will be watching us and Trump," he said, emphasizing the need for collective efforts.

Zelensky expressed a cautious optimism regarding negotiations with Russia. He suggested that talks with Moscow could commence only after Trump offers robust security assurances for Ukraine. "It won’t happen just immediately, the three of us sitting down," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Zelensky cautioned that Trump could face political difficulties if he achieves a ceasefire without providing adequate security guarantees to Ukraine. He drew a parallel with his own political struggles in 2019, stressing the need to pressure Putin into making necessary concessions. "Don’t wait for Putin’s desire. Make him do what’s needed to end the war," Zelensky concluded.

Throughout his electoral campaign, Trump frequently boasted about his good relations with Putin and pledged to conclude the Ukraine conflict within 24 hours if elected. However, the new developments suggest a more nuanced approach to peace negotiations.

Belarus’ Lukashenko Initially Apologized, Then Offered to Strike a Belarusian Factory – Zelensky

Belarus‘ Leader Lukashenko Apologized to Putin'”>Zelensky for Russian Missile Strikes, Proposed Targeting Oil Refinery During Early Days of Ukraine War

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko apologized for Russian missile strikes launched from Belarusian territory during the early days of the Ukraine war. Zelensky shared this information during an interview with American podcaster Lex Friedman.

According to Zelensky, the conversation with Lukashenko took place within the first few days of the full-scale war. Lukashenko apologized, saying, "This is not me. They’re firing rockets from my territory, and it’s Putin doing it." Zelensky quoted Lukashenko as saying, "I’m sorry. Trust me, Volodya, this is not me. I don’t control it; it’s just rockets, and it’s Putin…"

Zelensky, in response, labeled Lukashenko an "equal culprit," emphasizing that missiles were launched from Belarusian soil. When Lukashenko suggested that Ukraine retaliate by striking the Mозырский (Mozyrsky) oil refinery, Zelensky was incredulous, asking, "What are you talking about? What kind of response is that?"

Zelensky clarified that this conversation occurred during the second or third day of the war.

Zelensky: We Didn’t Profit from War, Prevented Those Trying to

by Chief Editor January 6, 2025

Ukraine‘s President Zelenksy: Zero Tolerance for War Profiteers

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sternly asserted that his government is firmly opposed to any attempts to exploit the ongoing war for personal gain. In a recent interview with American podcaster Lex Friedman, Zelensky underscored that Ukraine is not benefiting from the international aid it receives but is instead cracking down on those who try to misuse it.

The majority of international aid to Ukraine, Zelensky pointed out, consists of weaponry rather than financial assistance. He reassured that the Ukrainian government is taking a strong stance against any improper use of this aid. "Wherever we’ve seen risks, we’ve cracked down on everyone involved," Zelensky stated. "We’re not profiting from this war. If we find anyone trying to do so, we take strict action."

Another significant challenge highlighted by Zelensky is the spread of disinformation, which he believes erodes trust in Ukraine and complicates its efforts to secure support from global partners. "When false information circulates, claiming that Ukraine is selling weapons and Russia is amplifying these messages, we always respond by saying that our military would punish these individuals themselves, as we’re short on weapons at the front," he explained. "An abundance of such information leads to a loss of trust and aid, so we’re fighting misinformation even more than real instances of wrongdoing."

In his commitment to transparency and accountability, Zelensky sends a clear message: Ukraine is determined to maintain the integrity of the aid it receives and mitigate the impacts of disinformation on its ongoing struggle for peace and stability.

In a Major Setback, Russia and North Korea Lose a Battalion of Troops in Mahankova, Kursk Region

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported significant losses for the Russian and North Korean forces in the Mahankova area of Kursk, Russia. According to his latest address, the enemy has lost nearly a company strength of troops in this region within the past two days.

Mahankova, a small village in the Kursk region, has emerged as a critical hotspot in the ongoing conflict. President Zelensky detailed, "Today, I thoroughly discussed our military operations with the Supreme Commander, General Syrskyi. Intense fighting continues along the entire frontline, with the Pokrovske direction being particularly fierce. The occupier is suffering staggering casualties…"

A notable aspect of these recent development is the significant involvement of North Korean troops in the conflict. As previously reported, Russia has been attempting to supplement its forces with foreign fighters, including soldiers from North Korea, Syria, and other countries.

Zelensky underscored the strategic importance of these losses, "The Supreme Commander also reported on the situation in the Kursk region, noting that in just the past two days, in the vicinity of just one village — Mahankova — the Russian army lost almost a company’s worth of North Korean and Russian paratroopers. This is a significant blow."

These developments highlight the ongoing challenges faced by Russian forces in their attempts to gain ground in Ukraine. As the conflict continues, both sides are enduring heavy losses, underscoring the critical need for diplomacy and a ceasefire.
