TNI AL Officer Accused: Rental Car Theft or Misunderstanding? Puspomal Speaks Out

by Chief Editor January 6, 2025
written by Chief Editor

Headline: TNI: One Navy Officer Allegedly Involved in Shooting That Killed Boss of Car Rental

The Chief of Navy Strategic Command, Laksda Sasmita, reveals the roles of three military personnel allegedly involved in a shooting incident at a toll road rest area in Tangerang, which resulted in the death of the car rental boss (48). The incident was captured on CCTV and sparked public outrage.

In a press conference held at the Headquarters of the Joint Regional Command, Jl. Gunung Sahari, Jakarta, on Monday (6/1/2025), Sasmita confirmed that only one navy officer was involved in the shooting, firing twice. The incident occurred outside a mini-market, as seen in the CCTV footage.

"One navy officer was involved in the shooting, which happened outside, not inside. There was chaos at the scene, and one person was attacked after leaving the toilet, leading to the shooting," Sasmita explained.

The three military personnel involved are identified as Sertu AA, Sertu RH, and Kelasi Kepala BA. Two of them are from Kopaska Armada I, while one is from KRI Bontang. Sasmita mentioned that they are colleagues and that their roles in the incident are not clearly defined yet.

Interestingly, the shooter and the victim are related. The shooter, Sertu AA, is the victim’s uncle. "The shooter was the victim’s uncle. He’s the one seen approaching the victim in the CCTV footage," Sasmita added.

At present, there’s no evidence suggesting the involvement of the three military personnel in the car theft. However, further investigations will be conducted if any new evidence surfaces.

The firearm used in the shooting belongs to the navy, used by Sertu AA as an aider-de-camp (ADC). "The gun is an inventory that comes with the job due to AA’s role as an ADC," explained the Commander of the Joint Regional Command, Laksdya TNI Denih Hendrata.

The shooting incident was triggered by the car rental boss trying to retrieve a Toyota Brio that was supposed to be returned but was moved to Tangerang without authorization. The car had been sold to RH and then to AA, a navy personnel, for 40 million IDR after being initially sold by the rental boss’s client to RH for 23 million IDR.

The incident unfolded on Thursday (2/1) when the rental boss and his friends found the car at a toll road rest area and attempted to take it back, leading to a scuffle that ended in the fatal shooting.

Inspector Reveals the Origin Story Behind a Deadly Shooting Following a Car Rental Dispute

Title: Banten Police Explain Origins of Shooting Incident That Killed Car Rental Boss on Tol Tangerang-Merak

In a press conference at the Koarmabar headquarters in Jakarta, Banten Police Chief Irjen Suyudi Ario Seto revealed that the shooting incident that claimed the life of a car rental boss on the Tangerang-Merak toll road began with the rental of a Honda Brio. The incident, which is being investigated under Article 378 of the Criminal Code (KUHP), was initially reported as a possible case of vehicle theft.

On 2 January 2025, Agam Muhammad Nasrudin, a resident of Taman Rajeg, reported the suspected theft of a Honda Brio from a rental shop in Rajeg. The vehicle, a Honda Brio in orange with the license plate B-2669-KZO, was rented by a resident of Pandeglang with the initials AS.

However, the rented car was later handed over to an individual with the initials IH, who also prepared fake KTP and KK cards in the name of AS. Subsequently, the car was sold to RH for IDR 23 million, who then sold it to a Navy officer with the initials SY. The car changed hands once more, being sold to AA, another Navy officer, for IDR 40 million.

Currently, four officers from Cinangka Police Station, including the head of the station, are being investigated by the Cilegon Regional Police over reports from the victim’s family.

In a separate statement, Navy Chief Laksdya TNI Denih Hendrata confirmed that three Navy personnel are involved in the incident. The personnel, initially reported to have been beaten at the toll road rest area, are now suspected to be connected to the shooting incident.

Navy Chief Denih also revealed that the incident stemmed from a dispute over the sale of a car, involving multiple transactions and fake documents. The Navy is cooperating with the Banten Police to investigate the case.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Ajat Supriatna and another individual in connection with the alleged theft of the rental car. They have been named suspects in the case. The investigation has identified two clusters of perpetrators: one involved in the car theft, and another connected to the shooting of the rental boss.

Breaking News: Two TNI AL Members Involved in Bos Rental Mobil Shooting Incident

The tragic shooting incident that claimed the life of a rental car business owner at the Rest Area KM 45, Tol Tangerang-Merak has continued to grab public attention. In a surprising turn of events, it has now been revealed that not one, but two members of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) are involved in the case and are currently undergoing legal proceedings with the Navy Police (Puspomal).

Kepala Seksi Humas Polresta Tangerang, Ipda Purbawa, confirmed that the police have coordinated with Puspomal regarding the handling of the case. "We are working with Puspomal who will conduct further investigations into the matter," Ipda Purbawa stated.

The incident occurred on Thursday early morning, January 2, 2024, around 04:00 WIB. The victim, Ilyas Abdurrahman, was shot and killed at the Rest Area. His son, Rizki Agam, recalled the chain of events leading up to the fatal shooting.

On January 1, the rental company received information that the GPS of a rented Brio car had been turned off. Rizki and seven members of the rental team, including his father, began searching for the vehicle. They managed to locate it in the Pandeglang area, Banten.

As they attempted to repossess the car, one of the suspects identified himself as a TNI AL member and suddenly pointed a pistol at Rizki’s father. Another car, a Sigma, arrived and rammed into one of the rental employees, causing him to fall onto the road. Despite this, the team persisted in pursuing the suspects until they reached Pantai Anyer.

At Pantai Anyer, the suspects briefly stopped for about 15 to 20 minutes. Rizki and his team then sought assistance from the Cinangka Police Station, located approximately 2 kilometers away from the scene. However, their plea for help was unsuccessful.

"Due to the presence of a firearm in the mobile, unfortunately, the Cinangka Police Station could not assist us at that time," Rizki explained.

The chase ended tragically at the Rest Area KM 45 Jayanti. The suspect in the Sigma car fired five shots at the rental team, killing Rizki’s father instantly and injuring Ramli, another rental employee, in the chest and shoulder. "The suspect in the Brio car identified himself as an AL soldier, and the pistol that was initially in the Brio car was later transferred to the Sigma car, which was used to shoot at us," Rizki revealed.

The Commander of the Navy Police (Danpuspomal), Mayjen Yusri Nuryanto, confirmed that both suspects have been apprehended. "The perpetrators have been arrested at the Puspomal site," he said.

The Chief of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, also commented on the incident. He emphasized that the TNI will take firm action and uphold the rule of law. "If the suspects are found guilty, they will face severe penalties," he added.

The public eagerly awaits the outcome of the investigation and the subsequent legal proceedings. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of upholding justice and the rule of law in society.

GAZA — The horrors inflicted upon Gaza by Israel have once again raised global outrage. In a brutal assault on Friday, January 4, 2025, Israel targeting the strip’s residents, resulting in the deaths of 16 civilians, including children.

Son of Boss Insists on Car Documents When Reporting to Police Station

by Chief Editor January 4, 2025
written by Chief Editor

Title: Son of Slain Car Rental Boss Disputes Police Claim on Document Requirement

In a twist of events following the fatal shooting of IAR, a 48-year-old car rental boss in Jakarta, his son, Rizky Agam, has refuted claims by the Cinangka Police (Polsek Cinangka) that they did not possess documents proving their ownership of the vehicle. The dispute arises amidst the police’s investigation into an alleged car theft incident.

IAR was tragically killed while attempting to retrieve a stolen car from a group of suspects at the Rest Area on the Jakarta-Merak Toll Road. Rizky maintains that they had provided all necessary documents, including the Vehicle Registration Certificate (BPKB) and Certificate of Motor Vehicle Ownership (STNK), along with a spare key, to the police.

Rizky recounts the incident, stating that their only request was for the police to accompany them when the stolen car was recovered. He contests the police’s assertion that they had demanded official leasing documents, insisting that they had already presented valid ownership papers.

Polsek Cinangka’s Chief, AKP Asep Iwan, previously stated that the police had merely asked for proof of vehicle ownership and had not denied assistance. However, Asep also mentioned that the rental office had been unable to provide the necessary documents, suggesting that the vehicle might have been leased with no legal ownership transfer.

The son of the deceased rental boss, Rizky, reiterates his position, insisting that they did not lease the car but owned it outright. He laments the police’s unwillingness to accompany them to retrieve their vehicle, which was only about 200 meters away from the police station.

Following the fatal shooting, four suspects were apprehended, including the first renter of the vehicle, AS. A military personnel was also detained as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.

The tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers faced by car rental businesses and the crucial role of proper documentation and police cooperation in preventing and addressing such crimes. The case continues to unfold, with further updates expected from the local authorities.
