The 30-year-old father and resident of Tanggul Village, Jember, was left devastated after the horrific incident that took away his beloved family during what was meant to be a joyous holiday.

The couple and their daughter were among the victims of a fatal bus crash involving Sakhindra Trans bus with license plate DK 7949 GB on Thursday evening. The out-of-control bus collided with ten motorcycles and six four-wheeled vehicles, leaving 14 people injured, four of them fatally.

Saifudin and his family were in Batu City on a leisure trip when tragedy struck. The couple had rented a motorcycle to explore the City of Flowers, unaware that their holiday would end in unspeakable tragedy.

Despite his injuries, Saifudin was conscious after the crash and witnessed the grim fate of his wife and daughter.

"The news of their death broke my heart. They were my everything," Saifudin said, through tears, from his hospital bed at Bhayangkara Hasta Brata Hospital, where he was being treated for his injuries.

"Spanish Woman Dies While Bathing Elephants in Thailand; Local Shaman Implicated"

Woman Dies in Elephant Bath Incident: Thai Gajah Tourist Attraction Under Scrutiny Again

A Spanish woman tourist, 22-year-old Blanca Ojanguren García, lost her life in a tragic incident involving an elephant while participating in a gajah bathing activity in Koh Yao, Thailand. The local mahout, Theerayut Inthaphudkij, 38, has been identified as a suspect in the case.

García sustained severe head injuries after being pushed by the elephant during the bathing activity and later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital. Inthaphudkij is believed to have been negligent in his duties, leading to the unfortunate incident.

This incident has reignited concerns about the ethical and safety aspects of elephant tourism in Thailand, a practice long criticized by animal rights groups as unethical and dangerous. Activists argue that such activities disrupt the elephants’ natural behaviors and can cause harm and stress to the animals.

Experts suggest that the involved elephant, a 45-year-old female named Phang Somboon, might have been stressed due to interactions with tourists. García was accompanied by her partner during the incident.

According to World Animal Protection, an international nonprofit organization, nearly 3,000 elephants are on display at various tourist attractions across Thailand. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) stated to BBC that incidents like these highlight the dangers for both humans and elephants in these settings.

"This incident underscores the danger of ‘sanctuaries’ that allow tourists to touch, feed, bathe, or interact closely with elephants in any way – these aren’t sanctuaries for elephants and put both human and animal lives at risk," said PETA’s Senior Vice President, Jason Baker.

Similar charges of negligence have been previously filed against elephant handlers. In 2017, a camp owner and his mahout were charged after an elephant they were responsible for killed a Chinese tour guide and injured two others in Pattaya. In 2013, a 27-year-old elephant was shot after attacking and killing a woman.

García, a law and international relations student at the University of Navarra in Spain, was participating in a student exchange program in Taiwan. She arrived in Thailand on December 26, 2024.

Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jose Manuel Albares, confirmed that the Spanish consulate in Bangkok is providing assistance to García’s family during this difficult time.

Fatal Rental Car Shooting: TNI AL Vows Transparency as Boss and 3 Members in Hot Seat

Subhead:
BIODIVERSITAS.COM, JAKARTA – The boss of a car rental service was fatally shot in cold blood at a toll rest area, with three members of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) now under investigation.

The Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) reassured the public that they will not cover up any wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of a car rental boss at a toll rest area. They maintain the principle of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ and have pledged full transparency in the investigation.

Four suspects have been named in connection with the case, two of whom have been apprehended while the others remain at large. Intriguingly, three of these suspects are members of the TNI AL, adding complexity to the case.

The incident occurred when the car rental boss attempted to retrieve a stolen Honda Brio from the suspects. The victim had tracked the vehicle’s location using GPS, leading him to the rest area where the suspects were attempting to sell the car. A confrontation ensued, which culminated in a fatal shooting.

TNI AL commander, Laksamana Madya Denih Hendrata, conveyed the Force’s commitment to fair process, ensuring that no wrongdoing will go unpunished. The three naval members involved have been promptly taken into custody and are cooperating with the investigation.

Kapolda Banten, Irjen Suyudi Ario Seto, detailed the events leading up to the shooting. The ordeal began when one of the suspects, Ajat Supriatna, alias ‘AS’, rented the car but subsequently defrauded the owner. He sold the car to another suspect, IH, who then sold it to RH, ultimately ending up in the hands of a TNI AL serviceman named AA.

The car’s GPS, however, remained active, allowing the rental boss to track the stolen vehicle. He traced it to the rest area, where a quarrel broke out, leading to the fatal shooting. The victim, along with another person who tried to intervene, were both shot. The other person, a 59-year-old, survived the attack with injuries.

The Navy has been swift in their response, asserting that they will take stern action against any wrongdoing members. The public can expect a thorough and transparent investigation into this matter. The case continues to be investigated.

Police speculate depression as cause, no signs of violence found

Article:

In a heart-wrenching discovery, the bodies of two sisters, Femala Purwikosari (45) and Yuyen Febryanasari (43), were found in their residence at Desa Rembang, Ngadiluwih, Kediri, East Java. The sisters had reportedly been living in isolation for a significant period, rarely leaving their home.

The grim discovery was made by neighbors who noticed a strong odor emanating from the house. Concerned, they alerted local officials and police from Ngadiluwih Police Station. Upon entering the residence, authorities found the sisters’ bodies in a bedroom.

"The two victims are indeed sisters," revealed AKP Fauzy Pratama, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at Kediri Police, who spoke to detikJatim. "They had been living together in the house for quite some time."

Initial investigations have ruled out foul play, with no signs of violence found on the victims. Police are currently exploring other possible causes for the sisters’ demise.

"At this point, we are still investigating the cause of their death," Fauzy stated. "However, based on information from neighbors and family, it’s believed that both sisters may have been suffering from depression. The precise cause of death remains pending further investigation."

The bodies have been taken to Bhayangkara Regional Hospital for an autopsy. The families of the deceased have consented to perform a post-mortem examination, which will hopefully shed more light on their tragic demise.

"Faithful Dog’s Heartbreaking Wait for Lost Family in Jeju Air Tragedy"

by Chief Editor January 3, 2025
written by Chief Editor

Title: Devoted Dog Waits for Months After Family Perishes in Korea’s Deadliest Air Disaster

In the wake of South Korea‘s worst-ever aviation disaster, a heartwarming tale of loyalty and resilience has emerged from the small town of Yeonggwang. A dog named Pudding has been making headlines for its steadfast wait for its family, who were among the 179 victims of the tragic Jeju Air crash.

Care, a local animal rights organization, stepped in to help after receiving reports from concerned residents about Pudding lingering in the area. Upon arriving in Yeonggwang, they found the dog sitting quietly outside the village hall, seemingly still expecting its family to return.

After consulting with the bereaved family, Care was granted temporary custody of Pudding until a suitable permanent home can be found. The dog was immediately taken to a veterinary clinic for a health check-up. Initial examinations revealed worrisome signs, including the presence of harmful foods like garlic and chicken bones in its vomit, likely picked up while foraging during its prolonged stay outdoors.

Pudding’s plight first captured public attention last month when media reported on the desolate dog roaming a Yeonggwang village alone. It was later revealed that the dog’s elderly owner was among the victims of the devastating Jeju Air crash, which occurred on a fateful evening in late December.

Pudding’s owner, a 79-year-old man, was traveling with his 68-year-old wife, 46-year-old son, and several grandchildren when the tragic incident occurred. Even after learning of their demise, Pudding would consistently wait near their home, watching for their return.

In a heartrending display of devotion, Pudding continued to wait for its family despite the passage of time and the arrival of the new year. This enduring bond serves as a poignant reminder of the deep connections that can exist between humans and their pets.

As South Korea mourning the loss of life in the disastrous plane crash and caring for the many survivors, Pudding’s story serves as a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of tragedy. Care is now working to provide Pudding with the love and care it so desperately needs, ensuring that this loyal dog will never again have to face hardship alone.

Fatal Crash in Pekanbaru: Family of Three Killed After Consuming Drugs

In a tragic turn of events, the police have uncovered new details surrounding a fatal crash in Pekanbaru, Riau, that claimed the lives of three family members. The incident occurred after the driver and passengers consumed a type of drug known as sabu in Palembang, prior to celebrating the new year’s eve.

According to investigations by the Riau Police, the driver, Antoni, was sought by Lidia to transport a vehicle from Sukabumi to Batam, Kepulauan Riau. Lidia requested Antoni’s help in driving the vehicle from Sukabumi to the port in Riau, with the intention to take the vehicle to Batam via the ferry.

Antoni and Lidia set off from Sukabumi on the evening of December 29. Upon reaching Palembang, Antoni contacted Deni to assist in driving the vehicle in shifts. Before embarking on the journey, both Antoni and Lidia confessed to consuming sabu, a stimulant, to stay awake and alleviate any physical discomfort during the trip.

Deni also admitted to taking sabu before joining the group. Celebrations for the new year saw them consuming alcohol, further impeding their judgment and reaction times.

The trio spent the night indulging in festivities in Pekanbaru to welcome the new year, taking advantage of the city’s vibrant atmosphere. Their inability to rest due to the effects of sabu, coupled with alcohol consumption, likely contributed to the fatal crash that occurred later.

This unsettling incident underscores the dangers of mixing drugs and alcohol while operating a vehicle. The police urge all road users to exercise caution and refrain from impaired driving.

For more information on this developing story, please read the full report on Detik Sumut.
