In the summer of 2019, the United States renamed the capital of Ukraine in the international base the capital of Ukraine from Kiev to Kyiv at the request of the Ukrainian embassy. The diplomatic mission claimed that after this, foreign organizations that focus on the American base will begin to change the spelling.

In Turkey, denied reports of the intention to abandon the buffet :: Society :: RBC

Turkey does not intend to refuse to use the all inclusive system in local hotels, as well as the buffet. This was reported by “RIA Novosti” the head of the Federation of Hoteliers of Turkey Sururi Chorabatyr.

On the eve of the newspaper Ahaber, citing the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the country Mehmet Ersoy, reported that Turkish hotels may abandon the buffet to provide additional epidemiological safety of its guests.

“There is no talk of canceling all inclusive and buffet. How can they be canceled if last year we concluded contracts with travel agencies for the sale of these services in the current season? ”Said Chorabatyr.

According to him, the media misinterpreted the words of the Turkish minister, who meant that it was about strengthening sanitary measures, as well as increasing social distance and changing some of the usual ways of providing services.

According to Chorabatyr, the system will continue to work with enhanced safety measures for guests and hotel staff, but this does not mean its cancellation, the head of the hoteliers federation added. He also explained that we are not talking about restrictions, but about changes in some forms of servicing hotel guests in connection with the strengthening of sanitary security measures.

As previously said Mehmet Ersoy, the tourist season in Turkey can open at the end of May. He also predicted that a fracture in the coronavirus pandemic could occur by the end of April.

Use of digital technology to preserve cultural heritage

Jakarta. Digitization is one way of making cultural heritage a legacy for future generations, according to Ken Tsuchihashi, chief executive officer of NTT Data Asia Pacific.

NTT Data is the Japanese technology company behind the digital archiving of many of the world’s cultural assets, including the recently launched Asean Cultural Heritage Digital Archive (ACHDA).

Their large data store, AMLAD, helped Asean convert 160 of their cultural heritage relics to a digital format, including 3D model images, video and audio recordings.

“We are a systems integrator who offers IT services and consultancy to various institutions in different sectors, including the banking sector. While there are other companies in our line of work, our strength is that we develop our system entirely to meet the needs of the sector. This includes providing AMLAD as a solution to the looming fear of degrading cultural heritage, “Ken told the Jakarta Globe at the Asean Secretariat building in Jakarta.

A panacea for degradation

Cultural heritage relics are known to be extremely sensitive to natural or man-made disasters or degradation.

Often, restorations are performed from time to time with the hope that the business in hand can return to its original state.

“To replicate its original state, a reference to the cultural resource is needed before degradation. This is where our digital archive fits in while we can portray even the smallest detail such as dents and bumps that can be magnified down to 0.01 microns, “Ken said.

On the ACHDA, the smallest items presented were 16th century Malaysian gold coins with a diameter of 1 centimeter. One of these was the gold coin used in the reign of Sultan Alau’uddin Riayat Shah.

Meanwhile, the biggest object to date is the Paris clock presented by the National Library of Thailand with a height of 202.5 meters. The clock is decorated with golden carvings of the clash between the lightning goddess Mekhala and the thunder god Ramansura.

The AMLAD system is even capable of covering large-scale assets such as buildings, according to Ken.

“Another key feature is that the AMLAD system can be set to private or public. When it is publicly accessible [like the ACDHA], we can pass it on to future generations and contribute to education by providing cultural heritage information for academic research, “he said.

Success stories

Before assisting Asean, the AMLAD system was initially created to digitally archive the Japanese National Diet Library. Over time, the system has been applied to other institutions with similar concerns, including the Koyasan University in Japan and the Vatican Apostolic Library in Italy. The latter was therefore considered one of the company’s most important success stories.

“At the Vatican Library, we have digitized 3,000 manuscripts over a four-year period since 2014 with the help of our branch in Italy. About 82,000 delicate manuscripts are expected [from the Middle Age and Humanistic period] on the premise that we would like to digitize, “said Asahi Hasebe, deputy sales and marketing director of NTT Data.

One of the digitized works is an illuminated manuscript dating back to 1600 years ago of “L’Eneide”, an epic Latin poem written by the ancient Roman poet Virgil around 400 AD.

The tech company is excited to add more success stories to its track record.

With a branch in Indonesia, NTT Data is open to cooperation with local industry, according to Junji Kawahara, president of the president of NTT Data Indonesia.
