The official exchange rate for January 7, 2025, has been set at 42.1959 Ukrainian Hryvnias (UAH) per U.S. Dollar (USD), marking a 0.1070 UAH increase from the previous day. This new rate surpasses the previous record of 42.0889 UAH per USD, which was last seen on January 6, 2024. The Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH) has continued its upward trajectory against the USD, with the official exchange rate now reaching an all-time high.

Experts attribute the continued dollarring of theUAH to the record-breaking expenses incurred by the Ukrainian government in December 2024. The total expenditure from the state budget amounted to 705 billion UAH, including 492 billion UAH from the general fund. A significant portion of these funds is converted into dollars, putting further upward pressure on the USD/UAH exchange rate. Historically, the situation on the foreign exchange market in Ukraine begins to stabilize after January 10.
